It didn't look like much from outside but once we got inside, we were pleasantly surprised at how much space there was, especially considering the style of restaurant. Here are my initial impression:
PROS: Small but super friendly staff. The young lady who served us did an excellent job at prioritizing things and multitasking as several take-out orders became ready while we placed our orders. She also made excellent and honest recommendations when we asked questions.
Casual, homey setting with separation between restaurant and bar areas. The bar section has pool tables, dart boards and other games with more than enough space to get into each other's way if it were crowded.
-Food is flavorful and cooked to perfection. The garlic fries (something I'm experimenting with at various restaurants) were the best I've had to date by far. The coconut shrimp was also really good, and the beef stew comes highly recommended by my very picky friend (I'll give my own review once I try it myself). The chicken strips were also good and well seasoned, although I was disappointed that it wasn't a solid piece of battered chicken breast.
CONS Parking is shared by several businesses and the lot isn't very large. That being said. We were able to park on arrival.
The menus are separated on multiple cards and we were a little confused on which ones to grab at a glance.
The seats we sat in had a few pieces of food on them and the menu we grabbed was also a little dirty. To be fair it was from the top of the stack and orders were being passed over top of it fairly frequently so I don't think too much of it. I will mention it though as some persons might not be as "forgiving" in these regards.
Overall an excellent experience. We will be back quite a few times I assume and I recommend it for a quick bite...
Read moreI came by to order a Banh Mi or two and the lovely young lady behind the counter enthusiastically asked if it was for take out or to go. Being that it was a first time and taking out back to my hotel, I kindly let her know and asked for her suggestions on which banh mi. She immediately said the chicken which I went ahead and ordered along with the beef. And just in case that wasn’t enough I ordered a side of wings which again I asked what she recommended and almost like a secret she mentioned the Asian style (I hope that was correct or something like that) and I just ran with it. Being from out of state for a short term stay in the area I make these kinds of decisions while ordering in hopes of getting a gem of a meal.
In short, the Banh Mi could have been better. A lot better. The overall marinade of the protein and flavor of the veggies was there but was a bit dull. Maybe it wasn’t as fresh. Maybe the flavor profile of most can’t handle an authentic style Banh Mi but being from California I learned what I have back home. The wings of if I might say were cooked well, but as for the sauce it had, it was just average. I guess it was just an over sauced wing that had an simple but interesting flavor (in a good way).
I’d come back during the day time when it’s not the last hour to see if the food experience would improve. Also the young lady who I believe was maybe a red head or brunette was on point with service and respectfully easy on the eyes so keep her happy while...
Read moreCame here because of the excellent reviews, but I’ve got to say, yikes, I must have come here on an off day. My partner and I walked in to the restaurant side. One of the menu screens was completely black. Expecting sandwiches but seeing none on the visa or menu, I asked if they still had bahn mi, to which the younger lady behind the counter said yes. I asked if they had a menu, she said no. Okay. So what sort DO you have? She listed them, and my husband ordered one. I wanted the “Chef Special,” which is a stew and on the visible part of the screen menu. She said they don’t have that. Okay. I ordered a sandwich as well. We tried to order milk boba teas (on the menu), but apparently they only have blended fruit boba available, so we skipped that. We sat down, and another family whose first language was not English came in to order. The lady behind the counter didn’t even mention that half the menu wasn’t even visible. When we got our sandwiches, the bread was warm, but they were mostly bread and shredded carrot with very little meat or flavor. We were disappointed, to...
