My children and I are on a mission to try pizza from non corporate owned placesā¦we prefer family owned. Iād been eyeballing this little place for a while but the reviews were kind of hindering my need to add this to the top of the list. But alas, I had a hankering for Chicago style pizza so I ignored the wonky reviews and listened to my growling, pizza craving belly. Iām glad I did. Upon entering, we were greeted by who I think mightāve been the owner. He had such a kind and pleasant demeanor. He handed us our piping hot pizza that was ready on time (via ordering online). My children and I ignored our salivating mouths and the enticing smell of the pizza in the car on the way home. When we got inside, we set up shop and dove right in. I was a huge fan of the sauce, which had a very tangy quality to it, which I happen to be a huge fan of. The crust was the perfect level of thickness and perfectly cooked and it was a decent amount of cheeseā¦melted to perfection. The three of us scarfed down a full medium pizza but if you know Chicago style, itās a lot more filling than regular pizza. We also ordered the cinnamon knot dessert. I canāt really give an accurate review on that because we left the box unattended and my dog ate the whole box minus maybe three. š« He slept well and seemed to be smiling in his sleep so his input is included in this review. As someone who reviews things often and relies a lot on reviews before I purchase a product, use a service or eat at a restaurant that I have not eaten out before ⦠my experience here has opened my eyes to the fact that each experience from each place is going to be unique to all of us and that I might miss out on a lot of wholesome little hidden gems if I rely solely on the input of others. So yeah, go get this place a try. Itās pretty yummy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk, so we have ordered from here for years. I mean since I was a kid. Only every had two problems. Today is now another problem. Here's why you lost 3 stars. 1. You will forever lose a star for the owner calling my girlfriend over a review she left because she didn't like the pizza then yelling at her and cursing at her. 2. Your team is horrible. They ALWAYS leave the phone off the hook, 1hr so far of continued (we are busy. Got record of calling every 10-15 min from 530pm-630pm) 3. Managment sucks. Same owner says things are fine and always cooked the same. Makes 500 pizzas a night. So, that means he burns the pizza, burns the bacon and somehow barely thaws the dough inside. Dont tell him though, he will argue with you about everything, even infront of customers. The manager, Sierra is really nice was good at what she does. She got you all a star. Then, the pizza that is not burnt or doughy, is the reason you got another. If tonight's pizza is good, I will give another star for managment other than the owner being...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis truly saddens me. I love this East of Chicago. However tonight they really dropped the ball. I normally get pizza when Katie the manager is there. Iām guessing she wasnāt there tonight. Ordered pick up for a medium tower pizza, garlic cheese bread, an Italian sub and a chef salad. My husband and daughter picked it up. Came home with no pizza, wrong salad and not cooked garlic cheese bread. I called they said they would remake everything and it would be 15 minutes. My husband and daughter went back when they came home the bread was just recooked and sorta burnt and the pizza was ice cold. They didnāt remake anything they just reheated the bread and gave us a cold pizza. Now after spending almost $50.00 on dinner Iām not happy with the level of nastiness this was. I will be calling tomorrow to speak with the manager. Thanks E.O.C for making me...
