I have been a loyal customer to Brooke and The Ribbon Box for close to five years. I have always recommended them to family and friends, but after my most recent encounter with Brooke I will not be back. I purchase one to two custom birthday cakes each year as well as visits to the store for cupcakes, cookies, etc. Iām not sure what has changed with the shop, but the custom cakes are not up to the same quality as in years past. The custom cake that I ordered this past April fell apart because the icing was done too thick on one side. I notified Brooke and she made it right by offering a credit for our next cake, but I would never receive that credit. When it was time for my next cake, I messaged the store about the custom cake order, and received a reply the next day that they could do the cake but would need to make some slight modifications due to copyright laws. I replied the same day asking about the modifications. I did not receive a response even after the message was viewed. I waited a couple of days and still no response, so I followed up with a voicemail. When that was not returned by the end of the day I called again only to be informed that they could not do my order because they were fully booked. I may have been able to get past all of this, but I can not get past how poorly Brooke handled the situation. She attempted to place blame and tell me that she wasnāt sure if I was still interested in doing the cake when I had asked about the modifications. Iām not sure how me asking a more specific question implies that Iām no longer interested. Her āapologyā, if you can call it that, was that they had a really busy weekend and canāt always gets back to people. Mind you, it had been four of their business days and six days total since I responded with my questions. I will be finding a different bakery that values their loyal customers and cares about their business, because Brooke made it very clear that The Ribbon...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have ordered several cakes from here in the past. Usually we have been pleased, but the quality is hit and miss. Sometimes the icing was very bitter and artificial tasting, sometimes the cake was dry, etc. The staff can also come off as snobby as well. The prices are very high. Last I think that they may be a bit full of themselves as far as accommodating customers. I called Friday at 1:00 PM for a birthday cake for the following Monday at the same pick up time of 1:00 and they had already stopped taking orders until Tuesday afternoon at the earliest! 4 days for turn around on a basic cake? Um no... That is unreasonable. We might stop in for a cupcake or oatmeal cookie (rarely) but this will be the last cake we ever attempt to order. By the way, the oatmeal cookies are the best I have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered a birthday cake for my wife and i went to the Ribbon Box thinking that would be the Best place to go. I picked up the cake and i looked at it and the writing is the same color as the cake icing, I told the lady that waited on me and she said it was requested the same color as the roses. I said no it was not requested, and she looked and confirmed it was not requested, yet if it was the same color as the roses it would have been fine. I brought the cake home and my wife looked at it and said āthatās stupid, who in their right mind would do something like that, anybody that works there should have known that this does not look right.ā You pay a high dollar for cakes at The Ribbon Box, we could have gotten a better looking cake at Walmart or Costco, not sure we will...
