Jimboy's Tacos — Restaurant in Marysville

This was my first visit to jimboy's. One of my old work mates who lived in Marysville had spoken about it on occasion, saying that it was quite good. On the way home from Sacramento and decided I would give it a try. I was definitely pleasantly surprised! On this visit. I just ordered the basic ground beef tacos but I have to say, they were great! It's a shame we don't have jimboy's in Chico because they would probably be constantly busy. Way better than Taco Bell or del Taco. I won't compare it to locally owned Mexican restaurants because they're two different things. Locally owned shops tend to be more authentic, and that's just a given. Given. Jimboy's has its own place in the world of Mexican style fast in that the quality seems very good as do the flavors. If I were to describe it, I would say it's kind of the In & Out of Mexican style fast food. And that's meant as a compliment. Freshness and quality are good! And the food...

I go to this location every time we go on vacation to California I absolutely love their taco's. So we were going to grab some food on our way out of town and checked to see how late they were open and it said 9:30pm on their website. So we made sure to get there by 9pm so we could get food and head out of town. When we got there they had 3 cars in the parking lot and 2 cars in the drive thru but the doors were locked and lights out. But they were supposed to be open for 30 more minutes so one of the people in the drive thru called multiple times and someone finally came out to tell us they closed because they were short staffed. So unprofessional a sign on the door maybe? Just ignoring customers when you supposed to be open for business is a good way to lose customers. I would give them no stars if possible. Worst experience, took them 3 times to try to get my order correct and they still messed it up. Not sure what part of a combo burrito plate with a veggie burrito is hard but it clearly was for this staff. First they just gave me a burrito I had to clarify that it was a combo plate, they instead took the burrito back and added rice to it. I explained this was still incorrect. They took the burrito all together, made it a combo and tried charging me for the burrito they took back and the plate, I got my money back for the burrito but they gave me a burrito with no beans and all beef. 10/10 do not recommend this establishment.
