At one point, I raved about our server at Big Boy who was not our normal server, she is normally in the greenhouse type area. We went in this morning after LL opening ceremony and again didn't get our normal server. I asked if they had cabbage soup ready yet and our waitress heated a bowl for me, I told the owner she was my hero today lol I was freezing. We just left there and I have completely changed my mind. I ordered a big boy, minus the sauce as I am highly allergic to eggs. I received my sandwich and took one bite and my tongue itched like hell and was on fire. I opened said sandwich and the cooks had either scraped the sauce off or it dropped into the lettuce. The waitress came over and I explained to her what happened and I didn't blame her at all and said we had to get back for our grandsons game I would pay for the fries and it was fine. She went back to the kitchen and brought the sandwich back and said there was absolutely no sauce on the burger and added the owner was back in the kitchen. Like I should feel stupid or bad for sending it back and trying to get them in trouble or something. I explained again my allergy and she cut me off and said her friend has the allergy and there is absolutely none in the sauce because she looked it up and can eat it. I have been going to Big Boy for years upon years and the sauce has ALWAYS been mayo based, which mayo contains egg. Maybe before assuring someone and killing someone with an anaphylactic reaction, she should educate herself properly. I did my part, I knew the allergens and asked for my food not to have it. I hope the female manager who was there this morning and the owner sees this because had my tongue not had the initial reaction we would be in the er right now instead of my grandsons tball game. I will NOT have her as a server again, it won't happen. Yes, i should have asked to see the owner before I left, but I also didn't want my grandson to be late for his pictures. She could seriously hurt someone assuring something does not have an allergen when it clearly does. There however is a waitress i will now have 100% of thr time when we go in there. I cannot remember her name, she works mornings and is AMAZING!!! My kids are all servers, my daughter was with us and is a server and asst manager and was astounded by the treatment of this waitress jist because the owner was there...
Read moreNot rating based on the food because the food was good as always- rating 2 stars based on the service. Our waitress was extremely rude to us and it was a very uncomfortable experience. There were hardly any tables in there and yet we still waited 15 minutes just to put our order in because she was talking to another one of our tables close by.. And it wasnt just chit chat, i could hear her starting new conversations. Then after she was done talking to them she walked right passed us and started helping a different table. When she finally took our order, she just walked up to the side of the table with her arms crossed. Didnt even ask us "are you all setto order?" she just stared at us until we started ordering. Then i said i wanted toast and she asked me EXTREMELY rudely "what kind of toast?". Just had a major attitude the entire time. And i kept thinking she was just having a bad day... But she was nice one of her other tables. But rude to another. She didnt smile at all and when my boyfriend asked for more jam she literally threw it onto the table like dice. The main thing you have to do as a waitress is just be nice to your guests... Be pleasant and make it a pleasant experience because you are the face of that company and our waitress couldn't...
Read moreHard to go wrong with Bob's Big Boy as this chain is truly part of Anericana. The locations seem to have dwindled down to (mainly) Michigan, Ohio, and in California where they started the franchise. The location here in Marysville is clean and the staff is pleasant and helpful. As a point of confession, their original "Double-Decker" hamburger is my second favorite of any chain ever, next to "In-n-Out" which is also from California which is where I lived prior to moving to Michigan. My recent dining experience was fairly straightforward, but I variated a little with "pot roast" which was one of several new items on the menu. The meat and gravy were fine, but I always expect pot roast to be served as a type of stew with peas, potatoes, carrots, etc. This dish (as served) had none of that, so it was a bit disappointing. However, the visit and the establishment gets four stars rather than three because of its history, consistancy, and because I know just how good those Big Boy burgers are served California style with their awesome in-house relish! (The pot roast may not get...
