Today (6/1/2024) was our first time trying this restaurant's food. We ordered the Regula and a bag of chips. I ordered my sandwich without mustard and the menu said it would include vinegar, other seasonings and mayo. I did not detect even a HINT of seasoning! The sandwich was very bland and if they are attempting to pass this off as an Italian sub, they are sadly mistaken. Italian subs usually have taste, flavor, zing and are spicy. This was BLAND city! It supposedly had salami on it, but the salami was just as bland as the ham! I took the sandwich home and applied salt and pepper to it (which it lacked). The bun on the sandwich was far too sweet and I ended up eating only half and throwing the other away because the more I tried to eat, the more it made me nauseous. The BBQ potato chips made by Grippo were not good either. BBQ chips are supposed to be spicy. These chips were not even crunchy and had the consistency of stale chips. They did not even crunch and tasted like they were seasoned with paprika and brown sugar. All in all, this sandwich was certainly not worth the $12.50 each we paid! I could have done better making my own sandwich. I've noticed that if I want a good sub sandwich, I have to drive all the way into Gahanna to get...
Read moreWent in for the first time over the weekend. They had the door propped open on a hot/humid August afternoon. The flies were pretty bad.
I ordered a Children’s meal, the Regular, the chicken salad sandwich, and a Pastrami; came to just about $50 with drinks. What they DIDNT tell me is they were charging another $3 on top of tax and tip for me to sit in their hot deli to eat. Reviewing the menu further, they nickel and dime everything—double check the price before you pay.
The pastrami was reminiscent of dry shredded pot roast; definitely not a pastrami. The Regular was dripping with mayonnaise and mustard and somehow it was taller than wide. I pressed it down to be able to take a bite and an ungodly mess ensued.
The Children’s meal was extremely small, I’d suggest ordering two of them to feed a toddler. The chicken salad sandwich LITERALLY had a a tiny scoop of actual chicken. The majority was inedible bread—I truly couldn’t bite through some of the bread. Extremely...
Read moreA friend of mine called the owner and inquired when the Matzo Ball soup would be available to order. The owner stated the soup would be prepped Tuesday (yesterday) and available today. My friend asked me to pick up the soup and I would deliver the soup to her at work. I called this morning to confirm the soup will be available today. I could not get a straight answer from the Manager. The Manager was to call the boss. I arrived at the restaurant at 3:30pm. The gentleman behind the counter did not have any info. Hr called the boss from around the corner and I heard him ask "What do I tell him?". He came from around the corner and told me one of the ingredients did not come in...really??? I cannot believe this happened. I don't believe the missing ingredient because the Manager would have known this. Unbelievable!!! I will not, would not ever set foot in this place of poor business ever again. I suggest you...
