Tonight (Sunday, August 27, 8:00 p.m.) we went to The Hop to get dinner after a very stressful day. The waitress came up to our window as soon as we pulled up and asked if we wanted a menu. I was a bit rude to her because I was having a very bad day, asking her to give us a minute. I felt bad immediately and was going to apologize when she came back out to take our order. She had blonde hair in a ponytail and was wearing a black and hot pink shirt. A different server came out, who was absolutely lovely, and I tried to be really nice. I didn't catch her name, but she had a brown bob and was very kind. We got our food, and I realized I accidentally ordered my partner's burger incorrectly. I go to the window instead of flagging someone down from my car. The first lady who came to my car with the menu opens the window and doesn't say anything, just looks at me with an annoyed expression. I apologize profusely and ask if it can be remade. I felt bad because I also work in food service and know how draining it can be. She goes 'Yeah,' grabs the burger from me, and shuts the window. I wait at the table outside the window expecting someone to come to the window to hand me the corrected food since they clearly saw me sitting there. Instead she goes to my car and gives the food to my partner in the passenger seat. It was extremely rude and disrespectful. Then the burger we got that was corrected was very pink and undercooked. My partner was already fed up with the situation and went to the window to get a refund. They handwrote a ridiculous 'contract' that they made him sign stating that he had requested the refund and were also incredibly rude to him. The food, besides the incorrect burger, was amazing, and I really don't like leaving bad reviews. If the server had been kind and the burger being wrong/undercooked was the only issue, I wouldn't be doing so because I understand things happen. She really needs to learn how to treat others with a...

I tried it out tonight and got a grilled chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries, and a root beer. I would have had a milkshake, but I'm lactose intolerant, so my rating isn't for anything except for what I ate & the service. As soon as you place your order, you have to pay and then it takes 5 minutes or so to get your food, depending on how much you order. Somebody had pulled up next to me and ordered after I did, but they brought his food out first. Then he came over to my vehicle and asked me what I ordered again, because he lost my ticket. When I told him, he quickly ran back over to the other vehicle and told him it was the wrong order, then brought it over to me. Since the other guy only had it for about 20 seconds, I accepted the order. Normally, I would never take my order after it was given to someone else. The grilled chicken sandwich was okay, but a little bland. The sweet potato fries were good, but they weren't as crispy as I like them. And the root beer didn't taste quite right, so I didn't drink very much of it. I may give them another chance and get a burger next time, but with all the restaurants in the area, I'm not sure...

First off, the food is delicious there's no question there. My reason for the 4 vs 5 star is delivery.

Ordering there or going to pick up yourself is 100% hot and fresh especially for myself since I'm just around the corner, literally a 5 minute ride.

My lone conplaint and confusion comes in with strictly delivery.

I've done delivery twice through dinner delivered for here and both times it's showed up lukewarm to cold. Why? The only thing remotely hot this time was my fried pie, which was fabulous by the way, yet my chili cheese dog and rings were lukewarm at best and looked to have been sitting.

An answer would be greatly appreciated. Are drivers coming from far away? Do they have more than one delivery to make? Did I just hit y'all at the end of lunch rush? Did someone just have a bad day today? Did I offend the food gods in some unknown way?

If there is another delivery service you use please let me know and I'll try it because as I said your food is delicious, I'd just like to get it...

So I've ate here atleast 10 times before and today they really let me down. All I wanted to do was enjoy a Monday evening dinner with my family on our only day off and the lack of consideration and service was a terror. Not only did it take 40 minutes to finally get my food but there was no compassion or apologies for the long time it took. We were not even offered our drinks to have while we waited. I even asked after 25 minutes to have them and I was told by the young man at the window that the lady was making them. It was just soft drinks. Also when I did get my burger, it was smashed by a condiment jar. I mean if that's the way you present your food to your consumer than it is what it is but when I spend nearly $70 and get sloppily made food and in an untimely manner than yes, I will complain. I'm sorry for the review but I hope that management does really care and wants to improve otherwise I will no longer eat here and I would not advise other tourists or locals. Thank you for reading.

The Hop 50's Drive In is a neat little place where you can drive up and be served in your car or sit outside if you like. No indoor seating. If you're into this kind of setting then the Hop might be what you're looking for. The food is mostly fried, large selection of meat burgers but limited options for vegetarians. Shakes were no better than what you might get at BurgerKing but service was quick and the employees were friendly. Be sure to visit Groupon for additional savings and if you're in the area then you might also want to check out Hot Rods 50's Diner which in my opinion is a better choice for food options and quality. The Hop is worth a one time visit and who knows you might find it to be something you like. Drive up service and fun retro feeling but with a lack of vegetarian options and mediocre shakes. Going to give the Hop 50's Drive In 3 stars.
