Before giving this review, I would like to give a little back story on myself for additional qualifications to write such a descript review. Now, I have been in the coffee game for over a decade, one of my first jobs working for a coffee company. I also pride myself on my refined pallet. But such refinery has taken years to dial in. Lastly, any opportunity I get to try a coffee shop's cold brew, I jump to the occasion, and if there is nitro cold brew, I will get it as well.. That said, I have had MANY nitro cold brews and even more cold brews in my life.
Now, let's get to reviewing the Beard Brothers Coffee. When I first walked in, I was immediately welcomed by the friendly staff. You could tell everyone there adored their jobs as their professionalism shined through like a lighthouse on a foggy night. As I approached the counter, my eyes were immediately drawn to the taps behind the counter, "Draft beer? Nitro Brew? ALAS!" I thought to myself. Now, My eyesight isn't the greatest in my older age, so it took me a moment to acquire the text on the taps. I noticed that they were all what I would consider "unconventional" flavours. Certainly flavours I am not used to seeing as a seasoned coffee veteran. So I immediately started asking questions about these brews, only to be answered in full by their knowledgeable staff. But that's not all! Oh, no, they offered samples of each and every one of their nitro brews!
Here's where it gets interesting. I'm typically one that tries to avoid spoilers, and if you, dearest reader, are one such as myself, I will leave you with this. I teared up. Not only did I tear up, but I was overwhelmed with the complex flavours rushing to my pallet. My mouth was filled with ecstasy and I was temporarily no longer in this coffee shop. I was in heaven. You know how Joe Rogan loves to describe DMT? Well, the sensation that happened when I consumed this coffee was about as close I would imagine to that description.
Now, let's talk about the design, or as the zoomers like to say, the "vibe". It's great! Honestly, I think it has the best atmosphere of any coffee shop you'll find within the nearest 200 miles. It almost feels like an old Irish pub, not an Americanized one either, no, a genuinely authentic Irish pub. It's very warm, relaxing, but still feeling very lively. Lastly, regarding the way they have this shop set up, as I was looking around, I noticed an abundance of nifty little soaps, hand made items, and glassware for true coffee enthusiasts, but it's so tactfully placed, that at a glance, you would just think it's part of the design.
Listen, do yourself a favor. Go here, only drink here, and support this place. You...
Read moreI am a daily coffee kinda girl. It’s more of an emotional support for me so the fact I walked in and was immediately greeted with welcoming faces and attitudes was great. The gentleman up front was very kind. I told him what I liked and Joe immediately knew what to do. He explained how they make their cold brew which was awesome. I took a sip of my drink and my eyes got big… best iced coffee I’ve ever had and I love to try all the coffee places around when I go anywhere. I got 2 cookies which were big delicious. I got a peppermint mocha so if you like it, this is the best. I’m excited to try their food tomorrow! You can tell this guy is passionate about what he serves you as well as who walks that door & The woman (maybe his wife Anna) came from the back with a big smile on her face until I left. They are grateful and that is huge character for me in a small business! They’ve got a...
Read moretepping into Beard Brothers Coffee Shop, I was immediately taken by its vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The energy is palpable, with a perfect blend of cozy seating, ambient lighting, and the steady hum of conversation, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and productivity.
I couldn’t resist trying their signature drink, The Champ. This delightful concoction is an espresso Mexican chocolate with cinnamon and pistachio syrup, served over ice. From the first sip, I was struck by the unique kick and pop of flavors that danced on my palate. The rich, bold espresso perfectly complements the subtle sweetness of the Mexican chocolate, while the cinnamon adds a warm, spicy undertone. The pistachio syrup introduces a nutty, slightly sweet twist that ties the drink together beautifully. It’s simply delicious and...
