Bagel Time & Deli — Restaurant in Matawan

We’ve been coming here for four years now and have recommended this establish to countless people. My fiancé and I have never had a single complaint regarding customer service. However, the new employees of the new owners don’t have any customer service skills whatsoever. Last week the red headed kid that’s there every time now would not acknowledge the fact that I said thank you to him...three times! I brushed it off. Kids don’t usually have a fully matured sense of customer service...I get it. Today, two thirds of our order was wrong (we always write our orders down and read them off so our orders are correct). So, we called back and they told us to come back. My fiancé went back (this was her second time driving there) and instead of apologizing, this kid’s response (same kid) was to blame my fiancé because that’s not how those sandwiches come. BUT THAT’S HOW WE ORDERED THEM!! She didn’t blow up on him, but we decided that we need to document this so that the owners can improve their business...so that maybe we can get back to this establishment’s...

Delicious food, outstanding quality, amazing staff! Weather you are looking for a quick bite to eat, or catering a large affair, search not further, Bagel Time & Deli will exceed all your expectations. I recently went searching the internet for a place to cater a funeral brunch at the St. Laurence R.C. church in Laurence Harbor, NJ. I don't live in the area & was hesitant to call a Bagel shop. Boy, was I surprised! The owner at Bagel Time took full control of the event. The muffins, croissants, danishes and bagels were freshly made that morning.The juices were chilled and coffee was hot. The lox and fresh fruit were a perfect accompanyment to the individually wrapped ham, egg and cheese sandwiches which were served hot as soon as the mourners arrived after mass. Place is trash, don’t bother! Ordered a 3 egg omelet platter with turkey bacon, avocado, home fries, and toast. I didn’t get the home fries or the toast. Pretty sure they used Kraft cheese slices and they put it on top of the omelet that had barely cooked turkey bacon in it. The avocado was also on the outside and didn’t taste fresh. Avoid this place at all costs. My buddy was also trying to order and the person at the counter kept interrupting and yelling around the place at like two other people asking about a drink on the counter. They have no idea what’s on their menu as my buddy continued to order, the person looked so confused when the sandwich is right on the wall in big letters.
