A bit confused by Restaurant Rocco. I made a reservation for my wife and I to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and it was our first time to Bridgeway Station. I saw the Rocco menu and pictures and felt like it would be a great intro to this awesome new area in Mauldin. We showed up on time to our reservation and when I told the hostesses my name for the reservation they looked puzzled. Talked amongst themselves in confusion and went into the dining room to prepare a table. They overbooked an area and put us at a large 6 top table in the corner. Just the 2 of us.. we felt like sore thumbs. We could tell the server was confused why we would be taking an entire table for just the 2 of us and we felt the same way. We saw the server take the extra tabe settings and go to the hostess stand. Not 3 minutes after being seated the hostess came back to us and asked us if we would be willing to move to another table. After being greeted with confusion from the start, the server being confused, feeling like we were practically a burden, I asked them if it would be okay to sit outside at a small table so that we could change the tone and be more secluded. They seemed confused again. Finally got a table outside where no one was sitting. Took about 10 minutes for someone to come out and greet us. By then I had the time to call and make a new reservation at another restaurant within Bridgeway station. Feeling badly for the server who did eventually arrive, I ordered 2 drinks and asked for the check. Drinks were fine and I tipped 30% like I typically do being a fine dining restaurant manager. Even if the service is atrocious I tip the wait staff out of respect for the profession. I don’t know if they thought because we looked younger that we weren’t as much of a priority as other reservations. I really can’t say for sure. But we were treated like we were a bit dispensable and because of that I looked elsewhere to celebrate our anniversary. Spent closer to $400 on wine and food at a restaurant I won’t disclose in this review and tipped 30% to a server who did give us the experience every patron deserves when they visit a restaurant regardless of the occasion. Would love to update this review at some point, as I do enjoy visiting other restaurants to admire the level of service and dedication to the craft. But for now unfortunately I can’t recommend Rocco to...
Read moreRocco’s at Bridgeway Station is a true culinary gem that deserves to be celebrated for its exceptional food, outstanding service, and inviting atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, it’s clear that this is a restaurant that takes pride in every detail.
Let’s start with the oysters – they were nothing short of phenomenal. Fresh, and perfectly chilled, each one was a little bite of the ocean, with a clean, delicate flavor that you can only get from oysters of such high quality. It’s clear that Rocco’s sources their seafood with care, and these oysters were an absolute highlight of the meal.
The service was equally impressive. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly without being overbearing. Every question about the menu was answered thoughtfully, and they were quick to offer suggestions when we asked. The timing of the courses was perfect, and the staff ensured our experience was seamless from start to finish.
The crêpes were another standout. Light, delicate, and perfectly cooked, they were filled with the right balance of sweet. The texture of the crêpes was just the right combination of soft and slightly crispy on the edges, and the fillings complemented them wonderfully, making for an unforgettable dish.
Rocco’s at Bridgeway Station offers an exceptional dining experience that combines top-tier ingredients with impeccable service. Whether you’re there for the phenomenal oysters, dinner, or the fantastic brunch, you’re sure to leave satisfied and already planning your next visit. Highly...
Read moreEdited to respond to owner. I have only 1 negative review prior to this one. For Bourbon St Burgers which actually was worse than Plank. Bridgeway Station clearly has management/restaurant issues. The WAITER told us it was $35/shot. I will own up that I didn't see the bill so I didn't know differently. I stand corrected. Being told that "we don't have time to make a flight". Why is it on your menu then? Not to mention the place was empty at the time. Also, you didn't address the issue of not having any seasonal chowder (again on YOUR menu), and you didn't have oysters other than the janky VA ones (again listed on YOUR menu.
We will stick with Jones Oyster Company in downtown Greenville who clearly have their raw bar game on point. I forsee Plank closing soon.
Our waiter didn't know anything on the menu and had to double-check on every dish we asked about. They also had almost no food available. I asked for a margarita flight that was on their menu - was told they won't do them because "they take too long". There were only about 8 other people there at the time. I asked what their seasonal chowder was and was told they don't have one even though it was listed on the menu. Asked what oysters they had - was told they were from MA and VA. Ordered the MA ones - was then told that they were out of them. We paid for our drinks that we didn't even sip and left. My husband's Angel Envy shot was $35 which was laughable considering how cheap it is on the shelves....
