I went here for an early dinner with my family on a weekend. We had our order taken quickly and appetizers came out fast which was nice. We dealt with 2-3 waiters/ waitresses, which I found odd but didn’t mind. They were all nice. The ambiance was casual and nice. The bread was delicious . Calamari and caprese were also very good. Family each ordered individual pizzas which they said were good , not necessarily amazing. I ordered the “Mamas Sunday Gravy”. Meat sauce with pasta, meatballs and braciole. Well it looked beautiful. The pasta was good, meatballs were pretty good as well. The problem: the braciole was undercooked and raw inside. After taking one bite I noticed it. As we were eating dinner the restaurant got much busier. It took sometime for the waitress to come back us. Meaning , so much time that we were all done . I only ate a little pasta and the meatballs. I told two different waitresses that the braciole was raw and that the chef should Know that as well, and also asked for the check. I was shocked they left my meal On the check. Now I should have asked for a manager and questioned this. But If two different waitress / waiters didn’t realize to notify a manager or take it off the bill that’s a problem. I also had young kids who were getting restless. Totally disappointed. If the waitress would have came by to check on us while we were eating, maybe it could have been addressed earlier. If they took it off the bill , I probably would give it it 2-3 stars since it would have been addressed. Not the case.

Amici’s is THE ANSWER to “where should we go for dinner?”. This is one of the best (if not #1) Italian restaurants in Maywood/Hackensack/Paramus area AND it’s BYOB!!! FOOD: You’ll know this was a great choice once you get the bread for the table (I could literally eat that forever and be happy). The brick oven pizzas are delicious with just the right amount of crispness and can be customized for your preference off menu. We had the Chicken Bacon Ranch with Honey drizzle YUM! The pastas are al dente and generously portioned. We had Penne a la Vodka and Rigatoni Bolognese along with the freshest seafood Zuppa de Pesce. My absolute fave and go to dish (not pictured) is Mama’s Sunday Gravy. The Caprese Salad is mouthwatering with tomatoes that seem freshly garden picked and homemade mozzarella . SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE: The service is genuine, attentive and thoughtful. Ndeye our server is the absolute BEST! She is on it and makes sure to make you feel at home, that you are not left waiting and that all meals are served together, hot and in unison. Chef and owner even makes the time to touch EVERY table! The restaurant is a fun and despite how full it can get it - super clean and kept. There is also outdoor seating. The wait time, if any, is usually about 25-30 minutes but SOOOO WORTH IT!!! Psssst!….they also deliver!

Service was great, attentive & quick. Atmosphere is solid, not unique but family friendly. Maywood is close to home so its a great neighborhood for a good eats visit. I will mention, the food is not as great as I had expected. Marinara sauce for mozzarella sticks was more watery than what we have in other restaurants. Wings were well fried & cooked, sauce was not too salty & the ranch sauce gave a good compliment to the wings. Pizza was okay, as we had the Nona’s pizza, it was honestly a 6.5/10. The questionable thing was the soda. We ordered a pepsi and the pepsi had zero gas. It was like a flavored water more so and had no fizz. My girlfriend and I thought it was from the server opening it for us prior to having it dropped off to the table, but as we looked throughout the restaurant, several of the pepsi bottles seemed to have the same issue with the bottle as if it was recycled and simply refilled with watery old refrigerated soda.

A Slice of Perfection: The Ultimate Pizzeria Experience

From the moment I stepped into Amici's, I knew I was in for something special. The warm, inviting atmosphere, the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked dough, and the friendly smiles from the staff set the tone for what would be an unforgettable dining experience.

The service? Absolutely impeccable. Our server was not only attentive but genuinely passionate about the menu, offering excellent recommendations. The owner took his time to thank all of his guests. Despite the restaurant being busy, we never felt rushed—just perfectly taken care of.

And then, of course, there was the pizza. Each bite was a masterpiece—crispy, yet airy crust, the perfect balance of sauce and cheese, and toppings so fresh they could have been picked that morning. Whether you're a purist who loves a classic Margherita or someone who craves bold, creative combinations, this place delivers excellence in every slice.

What truly set this visit apart was the personal touch. Whether it was the chef checking in on guests, the warm farewell from the staff, or just the genuine sense of hospitality, it was clear that Amici's isn’t just serving food; they’re creating experiences.

If you're looking for the best pizza in Maywood NJ, look no further. I can't wait to return and relive this five-star experience. Bravo to the team at Amici's—you've set the bar for what outstanding service and...
