The Gremlin — Restaurant in McAllen

Worst experience ever on 6/22/2024 My girlfriend was there having a few drinks and eating fried rice when a couple of young disrespectful ladies causing trouble at flying Walwus followed us to Gremlin and came up behind her and physically assaulted her breaking a glass over my girls head on The Gremlin property then ran outside and she challenged them to a fight which I was not going to physically get involved in over a couple of ladies in a cat fight.

That being said I tried to talk to the manager about the issue later but apparently im denied service later just because I was there with her that night by some guy in black even though I did nothing, The night of the incident I prevented her from road-raging and got her to go home as it's true the lady the Gremlin Served has Bipolar and shouldn't have been drinking but I was there to look out for her and everything was fine until she physically got assaulted by two young rocker lady's.

I do agree with The Gremlins decision not to serve my girlfriend but don't blame me just because I was there looking out for her, maybe I should have just let her drive off and road rage that night, get in an accident is that what Gremlin would have wanted is the question, as for me only reason I didn't jump into the fight I don't like violence and its two on one unless it was serious, and also didn't call police only because I wasn't supposed to be with her due to a temporary protective order because my girlfriend though a good person gets violent when she drinks so I would have also went to jail for putting myself at risk making sure she gets home safe because she was going to road rage and do stuff she shouldn't have been doing.

Now if Gremlin wants to play the guilt by association game, it should be known there is a lot of unsetting gossip though I personally believe it to be true going around about certain performers who perform at gremlin and involving something illegal to do with minors even grooming though there's enough evidence proving it's true in my eyes, some of the worst accusations possible, being a bartender myself at different venues and the large crowd of people I know and serve let's just say it's so disturbing I am not going to stay quiet about what happened, in fact some of my friends just cancelled their events there due to the issues, certain performers do not want to associate around this type of drama that gremlin keeps going on and for me refusing to resolve the conflict their staff created the night my girlfriend was assaulted.

Also something about gossip and a 30ish woman Grooming Jauny Debts Son and the disturbance in the force something about Corpus Christi and a school?

On a side note and I've been witness to the fights multiple times, if gremlin is going to continue to cause drama perhaps it's time they hire licensed security for their doors, and stop leaving the back doors and gates unattended with no security where people tend to sneak inside if you know you know...

Unless the manager / owner I hear is some guy named Tony should choose to actually come forward and resolve the issue I'll keep spreading the word about that night and it doesn't help the venue or the Entertainment district but that's up to gremlin how they want to play this.

Edit as for my personal issues I've had my girlfriend 1 month sober and in doing everything possible to try to get her sober alcoholism and substance abuse it's no joke in a recovered alcoholic myself now I rarely drink anymore other than socially.

Until then I would recommend everyone go to The Walwus instead at least the owner and staff are respectful and don't hold me accountable for another person's actions just because I am seen with them. Walwus is far better stage, lighting and sound...

Came in for the Michael Seyer show. It was my first time here. The place has no parking available that I know of, so if it gets full, you gotta do what you gotta do, which sucks. Inside is for dining it seems. Very crowded and small. The actual concert was at the outside portion. The setting is ok. Not enough seating. A lot of people smoking pot and cigarettes, so beware of that. There is a bar to order food and drinks.

The restrooms are catastrophic. Only a single restroom for each sex (one for men, one for women), and they are in really bad shape. Couldn't flush the urinal, the lights were bad inside. There was no door knob.

I didn't like the actual, physical place, and there doesn't seem to be an effort to at least accommodate the people that go by investing in more seats or renovating the restroom. It comes off as a home party where one just throws a couple of folding chairs and calls it a day.

This place is lively, so that is why this is a good place to hang out, because it's popular. The food/drinks/ambience/facilities are poor. The music and people are good. Despite all this, I would come back, but would prefer something else. The place just feels like a house party, people walking in and out the inner restaurant into the outside portion, which is kinda cool, but says more about the negligence of the place than it...

The ambiance is amazing, the customer service is incredible, and there is always a variety of things to do here. My only thing is that the food is pretty pricy for the amount you get, although the quality is absolutely incredible. I got pork belly tacos, fries, pretzel, and Korean wings. The tacos are a nice Mexican/Asian fusion, they are incredibly well done and delicious. The fries are well seasoned and their sauce was pretty good as well just wish they also offered ranch. The Korean wings were super crispy and crunchy on the outside and nice and juicy on the inside, although I would have preferred a bit more sauce on them but besides that the seasoning was perfect. Their pretzel was nice and soft doughy, they give you 3 sauces one is a cream cheese ranch blend which was just perfect and the other two are spicy mustard and regular mustard. Overall the food is great just a bit pricy for the amount, but it's a bar so I know most people don't really come here for the food. Sorry I didn't get a pic of the wings...
