Great collections. Especially the timeline of mcallen development since the early 1900's, with lots of pictures, news articles, and objects from that time. Also the story of UTRGV is there. Great for both locals and tourists. Plus is in the middle of downtown so you can do shopping there too. Last but not least, the people working in there are extremely welcoming. There is parking on site in the back of the building....

An absolute gem in the heart of the city! This wonderful museum is impactful! It feels like a magic time machine, it is full of so much information, exhibits, and pictures! As a tourist visiting from Oregon, this place was a gem; one of the museum staff, David Martinez, was really knowledgeable about McAllen and the Rio Grande Valley in general, and had a particular interest in the 1890s - 1920s time period. I spent the majority of my time there just talking...
