Walked into the restaurant, on a very cold rainy day; the low was 40F (Sunday, January 21, 2024). Three of us walked inside expecting warmth, with a 4 month old baby. However, the restaurant was very cold inside. Upon entering the building, we were met with a small heater facing one table only; the table where the owner appeared to be dining at. The heater was small enough to only heat 1 person. The central heat appeared to be off, and we were extremely cold. As we were led to the table, we watched as the owner sat down and ate a buffet of food, with the heater all for himself, very selfishly. With seeing this, I realized that this establishment lacked customer service, not only so, but the owner lacked empathy or compassion. I don’t understand how he could eat in warmth, while watching a family, who are paying customers, with a baby, be very uncomfortable. My husband also informed the owner about how cold and uncomfortable this place was, and he just grinned and smiled—what HORRIBLE attitude you’ve got sir. FIX IT! I know you’re bound to read this review. We’re in America, not Vietnam. TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS CORRECTLY! What goes around comes around. You reap what you sow. This tells me ALOT about the type of business he runs, which is why I walked out of this establishment and headed over to Hop Tung Vietnamese Chinese Restaurant in McAllen and had the best chicken PHO, I’ve ever had. My husband and I are military folks and have been around the world, and this was by far the BEST we’ve had. We dropped about 400 USD here, tipped the server really well, and tried an assortment of great food they had. We don’t reside in the RGV, but came to visit family and friends, and when we come down here, we like to splurge ! I recommend Hop Tung for folks that have hard earned money and want to enjoy their food comfortably at a great price and environment. Unfortunately, I WILL not EVER come back to Xin Xin and will tell...
Read moreMy friend invited me here and told me she’s been going there for years. Crazy we had never gone together. We went with another friend too. We all got to try each other’s food and I found all the dishes were great!
I ordered the basil three delight with fried rice on the side. The portions match the prices for sureeee. It was a lot of food. Couldn’t finish it. The flavor was delicious, the food was hot hot too. The shrimp were a little overcooked, but nothing to be mad about. The meat was tender and the chicken was juicy.
The rice was okay, wish I had ordered white rice.
My friend who grew up there got the broken rice with the pork, Chinese sausage ( I had never tried it but it’s so yummy) and the egg. She got her food and immediately I thought “damn I should’ve gotten that” lol. The pork was so tender and delicious. I didn’t taste the rice or the egg, but she assured me it was great.
My other friend ordered the chicken with ginger and onion. Out of all of them it was our least favorite. It was really good tho, but the other dishes were more flavorful. It was mainly cuz all of our dishes had a variety of meats, while his only had the chicken.
All of the portions were super filling.
Excited to visit here again and try a...
Read moreThe people at this restaurant are rude and greedy, and the food are often not fresh. Once I dined there and at the end when paying the bill, I saw a dish that I never ordered on it. In another instance, I ordered take out but the total didn't seem to be right, so I asked for the itemized bill and the casher then told me she ACCIDENTALLY overcharged me by $10. In another instance, I ordered take out, after I was done paying, the owner came out of the kitchen and told the casher to charge me $1 more because the chicken was bigger that day. The cashier told her I paid already, so she gave up. Then when I came home I noticed they didn't give me rice. So she remembered to come out of the kitchen to ask for one more dollar, but she couldn't remember to give the customer what should have come with their order. I have also had multiple instances of getting an upset stomach and diarrhea there. So my recommendation is to NOT GO THERE. If you do, make sure you check your...
