Was really looking forward to visiting here, as the reviews were decent and the food pictured looked good. Itâs very hard to find authentic Mexican cuisine anywhere around the Western TN area.
Waitress took quite a bit to seat us. She was talking to another staff member. We get the lunch menu and ask what is in the Mariaâs dip, since there is no description. The waitress told us it was âqueso and chorizoâ, so we opted for that over just regular queso. Except when it came out (a little too fast) it was just queso slopped with chicken, onions, peppers, and tomatoes. Now, this would typically be fineâ but nowhere near what the waitress described. Plus, it was room temperature, no wonder it came out so fast.
Waitress didnât bring straws. While we ate, we got death glared at by an old woman who worked there, who sat at the bar. Every other customer who came in, she got up, greeted them, brought them chips or silverware, but she about broke her neck with how overt her staring was.
We ordered the Tacos Jaliscoâs. Except it didnât come like it said on the menu for some reason. It had already browning avocado slices and no onions.
The waitress was nice, but unfortunately attentive to a fault. She asked us four times if we were âready to orderâ while we were still looking at the menu. I mean, please read a social cue. My head is inside the menu and still was just as you asked me 30 seconds ago⊠The waitress âtopped offâ my water every time I took a sipâ for half of my meal I didnât even have a drink because it was in her hands instead. Meanwhile, my guest never got a refill once.
We were also asked 3 times if the waitress could âtake that plate out of your way,â when I was still clearly eating off it. She would touch the plate and slide it closer to her each time. Leave it alone, please! Iâm still chewing and there is still food on my plate. I guess she decides when I was done though, because I was eating chips and dipping them in my tomatillo sauce after my meal and she took my plate away while I literally had a chip in my hand.
The only redeeming part of this experience (hence 2 stars) was the Tacoâs Jaliscoâs, albeit being incorrect. That dish tasted authentic and was arranged by someone who clearly knows what theyâre doing. Although they ended up being more expensive than what was posted online. Time to update the website perhapsâŠ.
When it came time to check out, it was a different woman. She was incredibly friendly, but made some off-handish comments about the way we were splitting the check; and then made additional comments about my banking choice; inquired if I had a credit card, or debit card with that bank, etc. Why would you have anything to say about someoneâs bank and fiscal choices? Thatâs private and bizarre. Plus, I donât need all the tables around me hearing the announcement of...
Read moreLike most of the food there but when you walk in the door it's like where is everybody at then when somebody finally sits you down they give you a fork and a napkin like they're scared to death you're going to steal the silverware and you might have too many napkins on your table no salt and pepper on the table afraid to give you a knife I guess they're going to get stabbed then when they wait on the tables and the order goes back you end up with half your order because the cooks either don't understand what you ordered or you have to reorder to make sure that you got the correct order sometimes I think it's a joke they got one girl that works there and I don't even know what she's doing there she has a habit of walking around talking to everybody doesn't get her orders done correctly and then once to sit down and discuss everything with everybody you're thinking she's a waitress not there to entertain you oh and she brings in her mate to work and so while you're sitting they're eating then when you get your order all the waitresses all go up to the bar stand around and talk and you're sitting there waiting for one of them to turn around and look so that you can end up getting the salt and pepper put on the table so that you can have or a night or actually some napkins the bathrooms are usually dirty and you hardly ever find paper towels in there when you get the food it tastes pretty good but just remember there's nothing else in Mackenzie and nowhere else to eat cuz usually everything is...
Read moreI have never ate at this restaurant before, until yesterday. My best friend brought me here, and I can say that I have never been more dissatisfied with a Mexican restaurant than I am with this one. We came into the restaurant and got seated. The waitress seemed to be over worked and agitated every encounter that we had with her. She took out drink order, and left. She came back 20 mins later and took our food order. She specifically asked me if I wanted veggies in the shrimp quesadilla that I ordered. I stated âno, no veggiesâ. The waiter left and then came back a few moments later and asked me again if I wanted veggies In it. I stated again âno I do not want vegetables in my shrimp quesadillasâŠâ she left. When my food was brought out by someone else, my shrimp quesadilla HAD veggies! I waited over 10 mins for her to come back and I had to ask a male cleaning the table behind us to get our waiter. She came a few mins after that, and I informed her that it had veggies. She didnât say a word to me, even when she brought the food back and I addressed her. There was no comment from her after I spoke to her. She never filled out drinks once while we were there, and the service completely sucked. Nether less, we will not be...
