Finally, a Real Bagel in Dallas!

As a New Yorker who recently moved to Dallas, the bagel scene here has been… let’s just say, disappointing—until now. I’ve been on the hunt for a proper bagel that even remotely resembles what I grew up with in NYC. After trying what felt like every “bagel spot” in the area, I stumbled upon NYC Bagel and Deli off Custer Rd in North Dallas—and let me tell you, this place delivers.

From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was back home. The vibe is low-key and authentic, and more importantly, the bagels are legit—crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and packed with flavor. Not the sad, bready imposters I’ve seen elsewhere.

Disappointed. My husband just came back from a bagel run, it took him forever. He said it wasn't busy, they were just really slow. They messed up our order twice and they still got it wrong. We ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and everything bagel with cream cheese. The plain bagel looks pathetic and they still didn't get it right and put butter on it. The "everything" bagel is just sesame seeds and they just put butter on it also as you can tell by my pics. I had to make these edible by adding our own cream cheese and Trader Joes, everything but the bagel seasoning. We shouldn't have to modify/enhance our order once we get home. Honestly, we shouldnt of had to pay for these bagels and service. Will not...

I recently ate from this establishment and had a disappointing experience. The breakfast bagel I received was cold, hard, and lacked freshness. The overall quality of the products seemed subpar. Unfortunately, this was not my only concern. Upon noticing that the soda I purchased was nearly a year past its expiration date, I contacted the owner to inform her of the issue. Instead of acknowledging the problem, she denied the expiration date and responded in a very unprofessional manner.

Given the safety concerns surrounding expired products and the owner's unwillingness to address the issue, I cannot recommend this business. I urge others to exercise caution if considering...
