I love this place. It’s beautiful. All the green grass, the limestone, the creek and waterfall, the cool little hiking trails in the woods - All beautiful.
What’s not beautiful, is the fact that people love to come and visit this place for free and reap the benefits of a beautiful nature preserve and leave their trash behind.
Who is even in charge of cleanup at Limestone Quarry Park? The concept of picking up trash seems to be nonexistent here and it appears that nothing will ever be done about it. I say that, because some of the trash on the other side of the creek has been there for a very long time. If you don’t see the trash that I’m talking about, take a few moments two walk a trail over to the creek and be disgusted by all the trash you see on the ground.
Leave it up to man, to destroy some nature, build a park in it and then, not clean it up after trashy people leave their trash behind. This beautiful piece of land should’ve never been touched and allowed to become a park. Pretty dumb to build something like this and not take care of it
Anyone who reads this and cares, what can we do about the trash problem at this place? Remember, I’m not just talking about along the edges of the sidewalk. Look just a little deeper into the woods and on the trails and it won’t take long for you to notice it.
All of you trashy people know...
Read moreThe "Limestone Quarry Park" is spacious and beautiful. There's something different for everyone! The playgrounds are modern and fun for children of all ages, including slides, cloning walls, ladders, bridges, and swings. Unfortunately, the playground area is filled with wood chips, so make sure to wear closed-toe shoes and not sandals or flip-flops. There are several pavilions that are equipped with tables, built-in charcoal barbeques, drinking fountains, and garbage cans. For sports enthusiasts there are wide open, groomed grass area for field sorts. There are also basketball courts. If walking or jogging is your thing you'll enjoy miles of paved trails. They have gone to the trouble of installing mile markers along the trails that clearly mark every ¼ mile that make it easy to keep track of distance. My favorite feature of this park is the small river that runs through a large limestone deposit. The water is clear, cool and beautiful. If you choose to go off-trail and have a splash, be very careful as the river bottom is solid limestone and VERY slippery due to algae. I hope you enjoy The Limestone Quarry Park as much as I...
Read moreWhat a beautiful spot! I had such a great time on Taychas and even got to see the mini waterfall, which isnt always visible in the summer! Was a lovely surprise along the creek. The park is very well maintained, with clean paths and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind and enjoy the outdoors.
I really appreciate how much shade there is throughout the area, especially during those hot summer days when you just need a break from the sun. The variety of both paved and unpaved trails is another big plus. Whether you’re in the mood for a casual stroll or something that feels a little more adventurous, there’s something for every kind of walker.
Next time, I’m definitely wearing my Crocs so I can wade into the creek without worrying about getting my tennis shoes drenched in mud. It’s such a fun and refreshing way to cool off. What I love most is that it never feels too busy, but there’s always...
