So it was Dinner time, and like many of you reading this right now, I went onto Google Maps to find a highly rated place near us that had what the wife wanted for dinner... PHO!!!! Saw this place on the map and saw the rating... Uhh Babe... we need to go check this place out!!! A pho places with a 4.9 rating with over 200 reviews??!?!!? We left immediately as we HAD to go check it out!
In all seriousness, this was the best Pho and Banh Mi i have ever had in my 47 years on this planet.
Pho Lane has a limited menu (which is a good thing), and they are mostly setup for to go orders, but they do have tables so you can eat there if you choose to, as we did.
The Menu is great in my opinion. Most of the Pho places i have been to have 5-10 pages of items, which as we have seen from many Gordon Ramsay shows, is way too many menu items. This menu is very focused, and is cut down to a handful of items, but all of the ones we tried were amazing and my wife, son and I are very excited to go back soon!
I typically do not eat Pho, since it isn't really my thing but my wife and son both love it, and said how good it was so I tried it out. This was their favorite broth of all the Pho places we have eaten, and we all loved the thin rice noodles and sliced beef meatballs. I have had Pho at most of the common places around north Dallas, but this broth was by far my favorite.
I have never been a fan of Banh Mi sandwiches as many times the bread is too hard, but wow, this was just right. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the grilled pork was so tender and flavorful I could not stop eating it, and had to stop myself from going back to get a second one lol. We will 100% be back within the next week. My wife and son both tried my sandwich and loved it!
The Fried Pork Eggrolls were very good as well. Very juicy, flavorful, and the House Sauce was great with it.
All of the staff were incredibly friendly, and we even had the pleasure to meet the owners son, who had come out to ask how our experience was. We told him how much we loved the food, and would be back very soon!
We all love that this is a family owned restaurant with the recipes coming down from the older generations working in the kitchen.
Seriously, go check this place out, you will...
Read moreAll the 5 star reviews made me curious... did I somehow miss a fantastic pho restaurant in my own backyard? As it turns out, no...
The food is OK (3 stars). Portions are a small compared to typical Vietnamese restaurants. The broth was a little bland and highly filtered. This makes it easy to drink, but the soup is missing the spices and bits of beef and fat that gives it body and flavor. Noodles were fine. The bean sprouts and herbs were very sparse, and the meatballs were thin sliced rather than halved or quartered - the first time I encountered this with pho.
The service was good and the food came out quickly. Everything was disposable (cups, sauce packets, chop sticks, spoons, even the paper bowls), but the staff checked on us multiple times. If you're short on time, this is relatively quick. Not McDonalds quick, but definitely faster than normal pho restaurants.
The restaurant was small with only a few tables, but it had a quick turnaround on them. With everything being disposable the cleanup was easy. The menu is pretty limited (pho with some basic options, sandwich, and noodle entre), focusing on the popular Vietnamese "street food". Simple enough for the menu to be displayed on a couple giant screens in large font. Everything was clean and well kept. Many people also ordered for pickup so clearly it is a popular spot for a quick bite.
Overall, its westernized Vietnamese food delivered/served quickly. It won't address my craving for traditional pho, but it is closer than Pho...

My boyfriend and I decided to give Pho Lane a try. We enjoyed the grilled pork bahn mi, beef and meatball pho, as well as the egg rolls.
Everything was prepared made to order and boy does that make a difference!
The pho came out piping hot and full of rich, savory flavor! Also, they have three different options for noodles which I think is kinda neat (traditional thin rice noodles, egg noodles, or udon if you like em thick). They offer two broths, a traditional beef or spicy. Vey nice that they offer these options! The egg rolls were HUGE, double the length of traditional egg rolls and fried to a crispy perfection! 10 out of 10 stars! And the bahn mi is a generous portion for the price and far exceeded the same sandwich at competitor pho restaurants.
I would also like to point out how the simplicity of the menu. It straight forward, easy to read, and easy to order from. The restaurant itself is a bit smaller but very clean and functional.
This is a family owned and operated restaurant and it shows in the quality of their food and service to their customers. It was a pleasure to meet Linda, Mike, and Trin today and I am very much looking forward to coming to try even more items from the menu ☺️
I really hope you will give this place a spot because I know you are...
