We did a Favor order to Santorini Grill. They forgot to add the Tzatziki to our grape leaves app, forgot the Tzatziki on the falafel app and forgot the Tzatziki on the gyro platter. They also did not put Feta on the Kalamata Chicken. If you know Greek food then you know dry Falafel or a dry Gyro with out Tzatziki kills the whole thing. You cant eat it like that. When I called after receiving our order the girl on the phone offered to "take care of us next time" and when I said that was not acceptable since I just spent $60 dollars and would not be back "next time" based on this experience with 4 items not correct she offered an insincere sounding apology and a refund on the grape leaves. She said she would refund 6 dollars for the grape leaves. When I challenged why refund the cheapest thing we ordered and not at the very least refund the entree she said "it wouldn't be fair to do that since we have good food in front of us we can eat and couldn't refund one of the entrees just because we were 'missing a side cup of Tzatziki'." This upset me bacause I wouldn't be calling about a 'side cup' of Tzatziki. It was 3 items fully missing the Tzatziki which make up the items. Would you say that to a consumer in front of you? That the Tzatziki wasnt needed for their order and it was good food so just eat it? Would you serve spaghetti without sauce and say that to your consumer? When I told her she was minimizing by saying I was just missing a "side cup" she informed me she was the owners daughter and not minimizing. If you know Greek food then you know Tzatziki is a big component of the dishes. I had grapeleaves with no Tzatziki, Falafel dry with no Tzatziki and a Gyro platter with nothing but meat and pita. You wouldn't serve it to a consumer in your restaurant this way. Again, it was 3 full items missing it and pasta with no feta. I wouldn't be upset for one side cup. Mistakes happen. Her saying we had "good food in front of us" is ridiculous. A sincere apology and a refund of atleast the entree would have been fair since we spent $60. I would not recommend or visit this establishment based on...
Read moreFirst, some backstory... My family and I lived for several years in Crete, Greece so we love Greek food and have a great fondness for finding Greek restaurants that allow us to relive our time in the Mediterranean. Now, I discovered Santorini Greek Grill on a Google search, trying to find a good central meeting spot for my mom, sister, and I (and our families) to meet - they live in the DFW area and I live in Denison. The menu pictures were drool-worthy and they actually call an authentic Greek salad by the right name (Greek salads do NOT have lettuce in them). So, we decided to give it a go and we were simply blown away! We got there at opening and ended up having the whole place to ourselves for 2 hours - there were seven of us so we had the middle of the restaurant and Lee, our amazing waiter, all to ourselves. I admit, I was actually saddened that there weren’t more people in there - a couple came in as we were finishing and there were a couple of pick up orders but, I have to say, this place NEEDS to be packed! The food was absolutely some of the most authentic Greek food that we’ve had stateside!! We nearly ordered one of everything but decided to just do half the menu on this visit. Haha! Well, maybe not quite half but we sure ordered most of the appetizers! Everything was so delicious and well made. The gyro meat was some of the best quality I’ve had since Crete and the moussaka and pastitsio were perfection! The tsatziki and dolmadakias were magical! And the baklava and Greek custard (can’t remember the name) were to die for!! We were really so impressed and plan to return this Saturday so my other sister (from Round Rock) can enjoy the experience as well! We’ve also decided that Santorini Greek Grill will be our go to meeting place in the future, when we need to see each other but can’t do long visits.
Thank you, Lee, for putting up with our shenanigans! You are a wonderful waiter and we loved your kindness and service! We look forward to seeing you...
Read moreThe Santorini Greek Grill just reopened after shutting its doors for several months. I was really excited to see their lighted sign that read "OPEN!" Some of the changes include- Order at the counter and pay Get Your own drink and plastic utensils No In hand menu's Food served on small oval paper plates/plastic dishware During my past visits, I ordered the Grilled Chicken Platter with lemon potatoes, Greek Salad, and Pita bread. This dish was served on a glass dinner plate with a decent size portion of all food. Fast forward to the reopened Santorini Greek Grill. The Greek Chicken Patter was served on a very small oval paper plate. The portion size overall appears to be much smaller. There was very little of the Greek Salad and it lacked the zesty dressing it once had. The lemon potatoe portion was about the same as in the past. The Chicken lacked the flavor it once had. The Santorini Greek Grill was and could return to what made me go and spend my money to eat there. I understand the need to cut conners to save money by not having dishes and silverware to wash. However, the small oval paper plate approach/smaller portions, and the food presentation itself miss the mark of attracting and keeping customers. Owners, your door sign, while closed, said "great things were coming!" Please make changes before you lose more business. This approach is going to cause your doors to close again. I have said this about other restaurants lacking/missing the mark and have never been wrong yet. Please fix the problem and keep that rude man with no personality from taking people's orders. Friendly people need to be taking people's...
