My friend and I went to lunch today. On our way home she called and ordered two Swiss mushshroom burgers to go at 3:40 PM. She was told the order would be ready in 10 minutes. On our way there we made one other stop, so we arrived at about 3:55 PM. Upon arriving she walked up to the counter and said she had placed a phone order and the girl at the counter said it wasnât quite done yet, so we sat down at a table and our wait began. In the span of about 20 minutes we saw 5 different people come in, place their orders and receive them. My friend asked the girl at the counter two different times about her order and her first excuse was that âit had been a really busy dayâ and then that our âorder is almost doneâ. I had made eye contact with the two girls in the back who were making the food probably about 3 times and thought it was kind of weird. When the fifth woman who we had watched place her order got her food, I stood up to say something about the absolutely terrible customer service we were receiving. At that same moment the girl at the counter walked back and grabbed a bag that had been sitting there for a long time and said it was our order. When I confronted her about the other 5 people we watched get their HOT, FRESH food before us, she shook her hands like Wallace and Grommet and said âshe didnât know it had been done.â Long story short, the food wasnât even for me, but I will never give any business to this restaurant until itâs renamed âSlothâsâ to reflect their customer service skills and better represent the experience...
Read moreAlfâs Restaurant in McMinnville, Oregon, is like walking into a time machineâif that time machine also made killer burgers. The atmosphere is retro, cozy, and has a definite "small-town charm" vibe that makes you feel like a regular even if itâs your first visit. But letâs talk about the main attraction: the burgers.
I ordered the Western cheeseburger, and let me tell you, it was anything but basic. The patty was juicy, seasoned just right, and had that perfect char that makes you wonder if theyâre hiding a grill master back there whoâs been flipping burgers since the 50s. The cheese? Melty and gooey enough to make me forget Iâm supposed to be an adult trying to eat gracefully. The toppings were freshâcrisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and sweet relish that added just the right amount of tang.
The bun held its own, too. None of that soggy business halfway through. This was a burger built to last... at least until you devour it in 5 minutes flat, which I did.
One thingâs for sure: if youâre in McMinnville and not stopping at Alfâs for a burger, youâre missing out. Also, donât sleep on their friesâcrisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the perfect partner to your burger crime.
In conclusion, Alfâs is flipping fantastic. Just donât expect to share your burger because, trust me, you...

After returning to the place I called home once, I wanted to try the best burgers in town and so I decided to come here.
I had the worst costumer service experience here. The cashier, Kenzie, was disrespectful and unprofessional to my family and I. I came around 50 minutes before closing time, and ordered. During our waiting time, she started to make faces at my family member because they were wondering around the place looking at the antiques. On top of other dirty looks she was giving us, she threw our order on the counter completely disregarding us and the condition of our food.
As we left, we cleaned after ourselves and let it be. Then, her and her coworker sarcastically waved bye. At that point, I was fed up with their service because no other family was being treated this way. I went in and asked for the manager/owner and for the cashierâs name. I called the owner today, 6/24/18, and there was no answer.
I hope no other family gets treated the way we were treated. This establishment needs to train their staff to treat people accordingly and respectfully. From now on, my family and I will be taking our...
