China Wok — Restaurant in McMinnville

The food may be good, but I will unfortunately never know. Im currently 8 months pregnant and was craving Chinese food. I read several reviews before giving this place a go. The reviews are true, the lady who answers the phone is, in fact, very curt and rude. She mumbled and had an attitude instead of even trying to speak to me when I ordered my 3 simple items. She then asked for my phone number, mumbled something extremely quiet and fast, then hung up instantly. I was going to look past that and go get my food anyways, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Upon arrival, I see a tiny sign written in sharpies “Cash Or Checks Only”. I politely asked the young boy working the counter (who seemed to have the same nonchalant demeanor) “Hi! So you guys don’t accept cards?” He just looked at me and said “No.”. I was so upset at this point that I just said, “Well I placed a Togo order over the phone with you guys and I was coming to pick it up, but Nevermind.” and immediately walked out. I was never informed that they ONLY accept cash or checks. It’s incredibly inconsiderate and shows how little you value any of your customers by not even ATTEMPTING to be king or informative of this policy. Therefore I cannot, and will not EVER support a business like this. Not when there are so many others out there pouring their hearts into...

The young guy at the front counter was awful.

I couldn’t understand what he was asking me because he was speaking quietly (he was asking me to repeat my number a second time) but I thought he was asking about a Dr Pepper I’d grabbed, so I said “yes I’d like this, too” He yelled back my number at me so loudly and aggressively that an older man behind the counter (his father?) started yelling at him. He got really meek and quiet at that point.

I was short on money so I had to get more from the atm. I had my husband come in to China wok with me when I returned and the worker was way less aggressive towards my husband. Shocking. Dude, learn how to respect women- especially women who are 10+ years older than you. The food is good but that’s the last time I will ever go to China Wok.

Editing to add: Nothing is spicy on their menu. I tried the hot & sour soup and the Szechuan tofu which both had 🌶 symbols next to their names on the menu. Both were bland…....

Ordered the food over the phone, and was told my total was almost $25. I get there, the young lady had a mad look on her face. I usually have RBF too but to a certain degree. lol. Gave her my number for my order and she told me it was $31 and some change. I paid for it but I asked why it was more than what the man said on the phone. She showed me to ticket which only had the total. In a nice way I said I didn’t care about what the total on the ticket was. I wanted to know why it was that much. She just continued to show me the ticket. I’m not being a Karen but cmon. That’s not how you run a business. As far as the food, the egg roll was the best I’ve ever had. The fried dumplings were really good as well. The combo we got was really bland but still good. I added some seasoning and it was great afterwards. Our rice wasn’t fried rice like we ordered. I might go here again one day but definitely will make sure everything is how it should be with the total...
