We came into this establishment for the first time today. Once we sat down we were told soda was not an option due to not having CO2 so we got water. This restaurant also does not have their liquor license so they offer a BYOB. That’s fine and dandy but I personally don’t want charged with an open container if I get pulled over bringing it back home. At this point you’re better off going up the hill to compadres for a marg..
Now while looking over the menu I am not sure if this is on purpose or if someone just doesn’t know how to do math. Under the taco section there are prices for single tacos and for a 3 count. Getting multiple of the single counts is cheaper regardless versus the 3 count. They also have a special lunch menu but they do not offer this on weekends.
We received the chips and salsa. The salsa is very watered down and has no flavor. My husband and I ordered fajitas. His fajita duo were steak and chorizo which contained a good half cup of grease at the bottom of the dish. I ordered chicken and steak fajitas which were okay and you get a decent size. Typically anywhere we go and get fajitas the peppers and onions are nicely caramelized. The fajitas we got at margarita king were not even cooked and the whole plate was...
Read moreI was thinking highly of this place when I searched up tacos near me in PA. When I found Margarita King online, I looked at pictures of the food and found it yummy at first. The pictures are highly misleading of the proportions. You can call me fat, thinking the proportions are minimal, BUT NO.. YOU ARE SO WRONG. I ordered the Birria Tacos and only got 1 because for THREE is 16.99. OUTRAGEOUS. I got one thinking it would be filling, but you are wrong.. the proportion of the singular one was the SIZE OF MY PALM. It only took TWO BITES for me to finish it. NOT TO MENTION the fact the rice and beans that comes with the taco(s) are ADDED PRICE of like 1-2 dollars. RIDICULOUS. I was with my lovely boyfriend and he ordered the Americano Taco, he REALLY DISLIKED IT from so much grease coming from the beef inside the taco to the point it was SPEWING OUT ALL OVER, he couldn’t even finish all his tacos because of this. I even tried a bite and it was DISGUSTING from just that one small bite. We left disappointed and...
Read moreThe food was just OK. We moved here from Arizona, and maybe our Mexican food standards may be too high for PA. I was excited to hear that the tortillas were made in house however, they did not taste, smell, or feel like house made tortillas. Definitely seemed like factory made. We also had the street corn. Elote is meant to be on the cob. This was disappointing. Canned corn with toppings. Their salsa had now heat at all but wasn't bad tasting. I had shrimp and crab fajetas, and the seasoning was a disappointment. It's not our favorite Mexican place as our search continues. The owner was welcoming and friendly. He did a great job with the environment. The restaurant was clean and...
