So we did China King on December 25th. Probably worst time I can completely understand. When they took our order, we were told 20 minutes. So I went to China King when I walked in it was pure chaos. So I am in line to pick up, I get up to the front and they make you pay. ok no problem, its been 20 minutes, I figured they are running behind. So what 10 more minutes, maybe. NOPE, one and half hours. so after being there I go up and ask how much longer. I am told he has eyes no my food and should be shortly. Well I heard the same excuse several times. I also noticed people standing up there getting frustrated, someone got there food soon. I heard them on the phone repeatedly tell customers 20 minutes. I would have been ok with being told an hour and 1/2. I would have still ordered and waiting to come in and sit in a restaurant. Well, we I get home with 4 meals, which two of them are messed up. we called back and the guy answered said bring it all back he would refund it. we just wanted refunded the missing portions and the whole wrong order part. Again, I get it was Christmas and it was busy. But to sit and wait, because you said it would take 20 minutes and it took an hour and half, and anytime questioned about it, it was repeated just a few more minutes, they are bagging it now, I have my eyes...
Read moreBest Chinatown food in Mebane … (the Chinese food we all know & love was invented in the Chinatowns of NY & San Francisco CA …) anyway the owner keeps things ship-shape, and delicious. To be honest outside of San Francisco this is one of the better takeouts I’ve been to in the US … really
To those who say to much rice, obviously these people never have been to Asia, I have, multiple times. Without rice Asians are hungry.
Those who say it’s pricey; the food is consistently thoughtfully prepared, the place is nearly immaculate (which costs money) and at 5-12$ a plate the price isn’t unusual.
Those who say the owner is rude; no she’s quick, efficient, very sharp, and disciplined (I can excuse someone for staying on top of, and passionate about, their business. Plus she’s a first generation Chinese who used to live in New York, which has a faster paced culture).
I could say it lacks perhaps much truly original foods; but it’s a takeout place, not a sit down place in the heart of Shenzhen … and many Americans aren’t into shumai, deep fried scorpions, broiled conch; chrysanthemum tea or etc
Again well prepared, great tasting...
Read moreI left the atmosphere blank I ordered takeout. I arrived about 22 minutes after I placed the order and it was ready and boiling hot that's a plus. I got it home and it was still very hot. Here's a piece by piece breakdown Spring rolls... Delicious My one egg roll - great The kung Pao chicken substitute tofu-my wife says it was flavorful and not too salty veggies very crunchy I had shrimp lobster sauce- it was very good. My only complaint is the sauce was a wee bit thin but the flavor was great. I also had an order of ribs boneless was all they had that's fine... They were sweet but my wife liked them, she doesn't do sweet. Very good balanced. I reheated then the next day and to my surprise, they sugars didn't burn great leftovers!!! I asked for hot oil and boy was I surprised. I have had hot oil but this was the hottest and best hot oil I've ever had. Don't change a thing. We will be coming back. Thanks for a great Chinese dinner!!! Sorry no photos but take out doesn't...
