Update March 17, 2024: I fail to understand why no one has apologized for being so rude when arriving with my service animal. I carry my dogâs paperwork with me and offer to show it because of the many people who have emotional support animals and attempt to take them into places they arenât allowed. There is NO excuse for yelling at us from across the road and embarrassing us! I moved the update to the top so maybe the owners will read it. Maybe???
First review: Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. My pup was allowed on the patio - one recommendation, purchase a couple water bowls for the visiting doggies. I had my own, but no one asked if Elodie needed water. Yes, I know itâs a restaurant and not for dogs. I just think it would be a nice addition. Otherwise, everything was perfect!
Update: September 2023, several of my family members were taking me out here for my birthday. We had our little fur baby with us as usual. The patio was half full with patrons. The waitress came out of the restaurant and started to yell at us before we could get halfway across the street. We were literally still in the road and hadnât even made it to the sidewalk! She yelled, â we donât allow dogs in here, even on the patio!â Everyone stopped eating and looked up at us embarrassing my daughter- in-law. They didnât ask if she was a service dog, which she is- sheâs trained to recognize a medical condition before it happens and retrieve my medication. This behavior was rude and uncalled for! Whether you have a pet or a service animal, be prepared to get yelled at and embarrassed!
Update: as of November 26, 2023, this place still has not attempted to reach out to apologize for the embarrassment of having their waitress YELL at us half way across the street, nor asking if we had a service animal. I keep my service animalâs paperwork with me at all times. It may be illegal for them to ask, but I always offer. Next time I will contact the police department (that is what the ADA paperwork tells us to do in these situations). Maybe then we can at least get an, âIâm sorry that happened to you.â Poor customer service. And it is a pity because my family and I actually enjoyed everything on our first visit.
Update: December 25, 2023 still havenât received an apology, although they have responded to otherâs reviews of their business.
Update: January 19, 2024 no response. Really? Such wonderful customer service, hmmm?
Update: March 7, 2024 still waiting . . . At least they are responding to other dissatisfied customers! We go out to eat multiple times each week and this place somehow finds its way into our conversation way too often.
Update: April 15, 2024 I wasnât expecting a response, I mean itâs only been 7 1/2 months since the horrible experience (note the sarcasm). Iâm tempted to go there with my service animal just to see if they have read this and corrected their behavior (although they didnât think about responding).
Update: May4, 2024 we were recently in Mebane for the Dogwood festival. As usual, we passed this restaurant and began talking about our experience. I shared what happened with about 25+ other people at the festival. âGood food with horrible service.â Go elsewhere! They did. đ¤ˇââď¸
Update: June 7, 2024 what more can be said? Obviously there hasnât been a response to my review. This has become a running joke with my family, friends, and colleagues.
Update: July 8, 2024 It has been about year since our original visit here (which we were ecstatic about finding a new restaurant). Our second visit- well, not that pleased. I have friends who are keeping up with the updates. They have began taking bets on if or when I will get a reply. We know itâs been seen because the updates move it back to the top of the reviews and they provide feedback to other peopleâs comments so they must read them periodically. Oh well âŚ.
Update: 8/28/24 A year of posts & well over a yr since my 1st visit, they FINALLY responded with âwe are sorry.â About time! Did they really mean it or just wanted me to shut up? đ go...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I decided to go here for a valentine's date night. From the reviews we were excited, however, it did not quite turn out how we hoped. First of all, the menu was unexpectedly changed to a limited, fixed price menu for Valentine's day, with each meal charging nearly triple the average price listed by other reviews. (50-60$ a person compared to 10-20$) This is fine we thought, we'll just split we thought. No. A 25$ upcharge fee for splitting a meal. At the very least our waitress warned us beforehand, and tried to get the fee removed, albeit unsuccessfully. (The service there was in fact great, she was very kind)
Now for the food; great food can make up for a high price tag. Unfortunately, I would not consider this great food. As we were locked in to a three-course meal by the limited menu, our night started with scallops and a salad. The salad was fine, but the scallops were overdone. Next was the main course; we shared a prime rib, asking for medium rare. What we received was a rather rare steak, that still was bloody in the middle. Additionally, they forgot to give us the broccolini listed on the menu. At least it was seasoned well. Finally the blackberry crepe, probably the most agreeable dish of the night, the only one that looked like some effort had gone into plating it.
On top of mediocre food, the atmosphere was also not quite up to expectations. Lights that needed to be replaced flickered, and a smoke alarm with low batteries beeped sporadically.
Overall, if your wallet has been weighing you down a bit recently, and you have a below average amount of taste buds, this could be the place for you! The amazing service almost makes it worth it, and keeps this review from being one star. (Also, the bathrooms were pretty and...
Read moreI sent the note below to Will, the manager at the restaurant. He never even replied to my email. Shame on him! First, I would like to say that my wife and I often eat at Two Twelve. We love having such a great restaurant nearby. The food is always delicious and consistent. However, the last three visits, the food has been less than par. A couple of months ago, we went to brunch. The eggs were cold, and the grits were hard. I came back last month for dinner with a friend. The crab soup looked like sausage gravy. It was that thick. The breading on the calamari fell off each time you picked one up. I was soooo hoping this would get better. However, on Friday, my wife and I went back hoping for better results. We ordered the veal bone-in cutlet. It came to the table completely raw and was even cold near the bone. The flavor of the risotto was really good, but the rice was completely uncooked and crunchy. Obviously, we sent it back. They brought us scallops instead. Again, the rice was uncooked and crunchy. I ordered a vodka tonic. They brought out the drink with vodka and soda water. They were out of tonic. I think they should have first asked me if I wanted soda water. I hate to complain. I worked in food service for years when I was younger. I just feel like you need to know this, and we can't be the only ones who are noticing a decline in the quality of service. We want to continue to support you and the establishment, but if this continues, I'm afraid your loyal customer might start going elsewhere. Many thanks...
