Daje is a great addition to a somewhat lackluster - and stale - Medfield dining scene. The couple who owns it formerly operated a gem of an Italian restaurant known as L'Impasto out on Mass Ave in Cambridge, about a decade or so ago. The place was awesome and when I heard that Daje opened after stalking their Instagram, I knew that I'd be in for a treat.
And while they don't (yet) serve any of their Italian dishes, including various pasta dishes that still haunt my dreams, they do focus on baking and have an extensive selection of croissants, muffins, loaves and various breads. They had many croissant flavors available when we went in, including strawberry, chocolate chip and a few more and each was absolutely gigantic and oozing with butter (maybe a bit too oozy and messy to be honest) and they were tasty. The olive loaf was a huge hit and was studded with beautiful, tasty green olives - also delish.
They're still finding their groove but everything is promising and it appears that their fresh pasta may eventually roll out at some point in a few months which I cannot wait for. Should they go that route seating will be incredibly limited based on their current setup so who knows how things will shakeup.
In the interim definitely pop in for all things baked goods and breads. The staff is incredibly friendly and cares deeply about what they do, which is awesome to see. Wishing them the best and looking forward to more good things to come out of...

I can’t wait to enjoy the stuffed croissant he brought home (hello Peloton). Happy to drive to a neighboring town to support their success. Now we have deli meat with...
