We had the most beautiful sandwiches here today & really lovely coffee which we consumed in store . We are visiting the US from Europe. We ate at the seating area provided & tidied our papers & wrappers into a neat bundle which we placed in an empty chip bag that we had purchased there to eat with our sandwiches. We did not see any trash can or clear written instructions & there was no one behind the counter as we were leaving to ask. We then proceeded to purchase almost €200 worth of groceries, (this was excluding the money our party of 5 spent on eating & drinking which we paid for separately at the seating area) As we waited outside for our car to pick us up with our bags of groceries. we were approached outside by a young female member of staff from the seating/ coffee area who asked us if we had eaten inside. I replied that we had & she said that we had left something behind. Naturally I presumed we had left belongings of some kind & I followed her back inside, where she told me as we walked that we had to clean up after ourselves!! It was very embarrassing! I found our sandwich wrappers neatly folded into a sour cream & onion empty chip bag as we had left them. They were not strewn about the place. I asked another customer sitting chatting to someone with a DD paper cup at the counter where the trash was & he directed me to a bin out of sight behind him at the end of the counter. They all looked on as I shamefully placed the chip bag into the bin. I wiped down the counter also with a napkin, I wasn’t sure what I was meant to be doing or how much I was expected to clean to be honest as the young girl & her colleague looked on. I feel this was an over reaction to a situation that needs to be addressed by clear signage/instructions for customers not familiar with company policy! Regaining my composure, I very politely reminded the girl that we had spent quite a lot of money in store, that we were visitors & that it was obvious it wasn’t done maliciously & she could have used her discretion & let it slide. There are plenty of lovely places like this place & that is where we will be taking our custom for the duration of our holidays! Happy...
Read moreFigured we would give this place a try seeing we needed to cater a small after Xmas get together. This place sits on the main street of Medfield in the center of town and is a Roche Brothers concept market which is a smaller scale footprint but does this place really pack a lot into a smaller place. Not only does it have the market side, it has a cafe side with the bakery, coffee counter and burger and sandwich bar. The catering from there was superb with tasty homemade small slider sandwiches, a salad and the salsa and artichoke dip was delicious. The prices are on par with higher Roche Brother prices but I was sure glad we found this place as it was excellent. Even the homemade quiche was excellent! Highly...
Read moreStopped in for lunch with my mother. They have a cute soda-fountain- looking counter for made to order sandwiches and burgers. Cesar chicken wrap and chicken club were great, so we decided to grab some prepared salads on our way out. Glad we did! The kale power salad with blueberries, and the roasted veggies were excellent. Also had a cookie from the bakery and I'm looking forward to trying more pastries. The dining area is in the bakery / candy / tea section of the store, and we noticed good variety of quality goods at competitive prices. Will...
