I usually would not get involved with this sort of thing, but if you are from this town and understand how hard people have to work here to earn a living (especially growing a business) then you will understand my reason for giving my opinion.
I really don't understand why of all things anyone would attempt to undermine the food here, maybe the narrow driveway right off the narrow street (which they didn't build nor control) maybe some of the new faces (hires) are not as adept in customer service (warm friendly smiles etc) which they should discuss, because it wasn't that way in the beginning and it's just nice for people to be nice when taking your money. though any issue at G's Bento is definitely not the food.
I used to get Bento from another man who built his business here also from the ground up, he's up by the hospital, very nice guy also from CA and just (for the narrative) a damn hard worker. Though with no disrespect intended (as I still eat there when on that end) G's which is closer to my daily route, is still just an overall better meal.
Any complaint of salt misuse seems like an attack on simply SEASONING ONES FOOD. I've eaten all over the world and even had a few opportunities to do so at michelin star restaurants and "what do you know" they season their food with salt also! and IMO no more or less than they do at G's Bento. Now with that said, I am not saying that Gordon Ramsey is working in the Kitchen at G's, However, I am saying that it's damn good food, served in very adequate portions, for a very reasonable price.
though to be fair I will concede the idea of an anomalous moment of salt gate being possible, I've NEVER had one, and the lines of repeat business would suggest that I am not the only one, or maybe we all just have a salt addiction (could be). However, I think it just borders more on mean and exaggerative at best. Which could not only hurt and take away a quality business, but also take away jobs that are few and far in between for a town that needs all the support it can muster up to keep doors open. anyhow that's all I have to say about that. stay hungry my...
Read moreI had hands down the rudest experience at G's Bento just a few minutes ago. I went through the Drive and ordered, my order came to $10.00 after the girl with long blond wavy hair took my card and started to run it, she tells me that it will be $10.50 ??? Why "Because of the card you are using" i say ok? you just told me $10.00 now it is another 50cents after she takes my card. I say, ok but i think that is wrong and i probably wont be coming back. She says, "then we just wont be serving you!" and slams the window on me, then puts her hand up to me in the window to block me...Are you kidding me? I have never in my life been treated like that as a customer. I said nothing rude or mean, just that i thought it is wrong to tell a customer that it is one price and then charge them another, I will NEVER go to this establishment ever again and I will be telling every one I know about it. There is no excuse for that sort of behavior when running a buisness. Dear Mr.Jared Gail, i have owned several service based business and have never once treated a customer so poorly. Your employee or whom ever she is, should be let go...
Read moreThe meat was amazing! The macaroni salad was fantastic!... But the rice literally killed it, not in a good way. To make everything else great then put it all on top of crunchy, dry and bland rice was a disappointment as over half the bowl is filled with it. I had heard about this place by word of mouth and all the good things everyone had to say about it. I was looking forward to a delicious meal and it was until I hit the rice. The steak was juicy, flavorful and was from a nicer cut then I was expecting. Between the wait time of over 15 minutes (there was one car in front of me when I pulled up), the price and the rice I will unfortunately not be returning. Unless I catch wind of a change in your starch. I would have given 5 stars looking past the wait time and price but...
