Lucy's Craft Deli — Restaurant in Medford

My steak and cheese was pretty average definitely not as good as Jimmy’s. Although this place is definitely better than the place they replace Jimmy’s which gave me the most stale piece of pizza I’ve ever had. To be fair the steak and cheese wasn’t bad it just wasn’t even close to Jimmy’s if anybody wondering Jimmy’s was the old Greek pizza joint best spot in West Medford been gone for a while now.

also only three stars because I came there specifically for the collard greens but they don’t even sell them anymore.

Also three stars because I can’t find the menu for this place it doesn’t have a website I don’t do those GrubHub they charge extra and plus the menu is never complete, so one day I call right and I’m trying to ask about certain things on the menu and the guy tells me what did you look at the menu I said well you have about five different menus and none of them are from an official site and they’re all different and then we finally figured out what’s on the menu and then I ordered something from the menu and they didn’t have that anymore or they didn’t sell it something I don’t know what it was on the menu and the guys telling me oh well did you look at the menu buddy yeah Buddy I couldn’t find your menu when I finally did I ordered something from your menu and you don’t sell it ha ha jokes...

Great sandwiches - the best in the area. After getting a sandwich elsewhere that kind of let me down, I was inspired to write this.

Lucy’s has one of the best Italian sandwiches in the Boston area. It’s a healthy portion (splittable) but it’s balanced - not over stuffed with too many cold cuts where you’re picking things off because it doesn’t eat right.

The hot sandwiches are great too - the new chicken buratta is a great change of pace if you love a chicken parm.

The fried chicken tenders are fresh and seem to be made in house too.

Only comment I’ll make is the porchetta sandwich. It’s a leaner roasted pork sandwich with broccoli rabe, which is good, but it doesn’t really hit that porchetta mark for me - more “inspired” by it.

Service is great - unusually order ahead and it always seems to be ready early. Owners are welcoming and nice too.

Counter service takeout - there are a couple stools but not much other space.

Haven’t tried the breakfast on the weekends here but it’s on the list.

If you can’t get parking on the streep, there’s a lot by the liquor store on the end...

Excellent restaurant in west Medford! We’ve been here three times and have been very impressed each time. Sandwiches are spot on, the flavor profiles all have a little something special without overdoing it- you can tell the person making the menu knows what they’re doing.
