Mei Ling's — Restaurant in Medford

I plan on giving them a second chance, anyone can have a bad night. Not happy at with my order last night, General Gau:s chicken was on point but the white rice was a pile of mush. Way too overcooked and was a big let down to the chicken that was well prepared. The pork fried rice on the other hand, crunchy rice and no pork, none, not one bit. It was a small order and a couple if forkfuls in I had to pause and look for the pork, none to be found. Speaking of none to be found, I ordered teriyaki beef to accompany my late night snack but that too was left out of the equation. I for one distain paying the delivery fee with the service fee, not to mention the additional tip I have to leave if I want the driver to see a penny. To not receive one of three items ordered for $40 is disappointing. As stated at the start of my review, I will give them another shot, we shall see if redemption is possible. Stay tuned for the follow up, I'll take one for the team so you won't have to waste time and money hoping for all the food you paid for. Not to mention they will need a major improvement to food...

I used to live in Medford and always went here to get takeout. Even after I moved several times I ALWAYS got my Chinese food here even though it was not closeby. They had a fire some time back and finally reopened. I always liked their egg foo yong, especially the sauce. I was disappointed in the vegetable egg foo yong because for the MANY years I went there, it was not the same. The ONLY veggies that were in it were bean sprouts and onions. This was the first time I had been back since they reopened and I had driven from 3 towns away and I told the woman who took my order this. Previously the foo yong had several different veggies in it like red and green peppers, water chestnuts etc. I tried to call the next day TWICE to let them know that I was very disappointed, however no one answered and the 2nd time I called I checked to make sure I had the correct phone number. It was approximately 3pm and I let the phone ring about 20 times! It's too bad because they used to have the best Chinese food. I guess they were taken over...

First time ordering from Mei Ling's but definitely not the last. Hard to find a Chinese restaurant open late these day's with the covid, but luckily for me they were and I got to discover them. Ordering was a breeze, I set up an account on the website, and ordered online. I got delivery and the food showed up half an hour earlier than promised piping hot. Containers were stuffed to the point that they couldn't be closed, very nice proportions. The flavor was fantastic. Rice was firm and loaded with vegetables that were fresh. Fried appetizers were cooked right, golden brown edges, not burnt just right, not under-cooked and soggy. Spear ribs, bone in were meaty and delicious. Out of respect I won't mention the 3 other places I get food from in my area, but this place is better than all of them. Just wish the egg rolls were a little better. I would have to give them an 11 on a scale of 1- 10. Nice job staff, much...
