I've eaten here 4 or 5 times over the past several years. Service has typically been good even in spite of staff shortages as of late. Where they are really hit or miss is the food. The pizza is pretty good, if you're a fan of St. Louis style. Burgers have been mediocre at best; fries are consistently tasty and crispy. By far, the worst thing I've had was the Philly "steak" sandwich. It is just a small pile of dried-out Steak-Umm's with the normal cheese steak toppings. The Spicy Mac 'n Cheese looked and tasted like a box of Velveeta shells and cheese with jalapenos on top; ridiculously overpriced for what you got (it costs more than my "steak" sandwich).
In terms of atmosphere, this place is your typical dive bar and grill. Not saying this to disparage, just the kind of atmosphere here. I enjoy good dives. If you're a family with young kids, I'd avoid this place if the bar area is busy. It's right next to the dining area and like any dive bar, they seem to have their regulars who are usually well intoxicated and unable to control their language and the volume at which they speak. I personally didn't take offense, but could see parents with young children potentially being frustrated. I've been to other similar places who have the bar area well segregated from the dining area so a rowdy bar crowd doesn't taint the dining room experience. This ain't one of those places, for better or for worse.
After our latest visit, my wife and I agreed we'll be taking a long break...
Read morePerfect place to hang out! My wife and I started coming here about 6 to 8 months ago and we haven't stopped. This isn't a fancy french bistro or a gourmet deli. This is an excellent place to have some beers, appetizers, and meal while watching multiple games at once, enjoying a competitive trivia night, and hanging out friends, family, and fun neighbors. By the way, best trivia in town. The trivia starts at 7 Tuesdays and is over by 9... which is nice, because I can still get a good nights sleep before work in morning. ...good prizes too.
When it comes to there food, I've tried almost every ...It's all delicious. Everything tastes fresh. Everything is appropriately spiced and full of flavor. We were really impressed with they're jalepeno poppers, we hope they come back. In their absence, the pretzel bites became our favorite appetizer. They have a sweetness and shape that remind me of a doughnut hole, but are classically salted pretzels.
Best drink and appetizer specials we've found.
Nightly and seasonal specials... My favorite was the Cuban Sandwich. Its on par with La Tropicana (RIP)
Homemade chili which is several notches better than Stake and Shakes.
Not a huge beer selection, but a good mix of local crafts, big name domestics, and imports. There is something for everybody at the bar and on the menu.
I could rant about this place for ever. Its a place to have fun with good prices and good food. Way better than your typical...
Read moreIt was the weirdest twilight zone experience I’ve ever had. We were at this establishment at a memorial luncheon for my cousin who had passed. The waitress was really busy trying to get everybody’s drink orders. One waitress. Only soft drinks and waters were provided. My husband wanted a beer so he went to th bar and before he got there a young busser told him he needed to get back to the area. My husband kept walking to the bar because that was weird but whatever? He ordered a beer and a Diet Coke and they told him he couldn’t order it. You need to go back to your area. More forcefully this time. My husband had a few choice words. Then a manager came into the bar area and told him he would have to leave before things got serious between them. Challenging him to a fight in the parking lot. Mind you this is at a memorial luncheon. Calling my husband a woman and exchanging insults all the way out the door. He obviously needs some people skills training. All that had to be done for everyone to be happy was sell a beer to him. Funny that it was at a bar where beer is sold daily. I’ll never go to this establishment again and will pass...
