First off, I am aware of the good reviews this place seems to have online. It is why my girlfriend and I decided to dine here this evening because the reviews seem to rave good things about it. My girlfriend ordered the Carne Azada burrito and I the Caldo De Res. My girlfriends steak in her burrito had the consistency of total rubber as if it had been cooked in a microwave and had no seasoning whatsoever. The rice and beans it came with were totally spoiled tasting as well. The burrito itself was a flat excuse for what we've been served by their competition down the street just at a simple glance as well. My soup was very bland with the broth tasting like canned tomatoe juice and the beef just like my girlfriends steak, had no salt or seasoning whatsoever. When the server asked us how our food was I made no mention of how I was displeased with mine but made sure to explain my girlfriends burrito was not very good and I'd like her to take it off the bill. I didn't want to screw a local place out of paying for both entrées. Fast forward a few minutes later and we are handed a check with both entrées still on the bill. Unfortunately this is not how you build a clientele base. Ultimately we won't be coming back here which is terrible because we really wanted to support a local restaurant down the street from us. We thoroughly enjoy the other small Mexican restaurants in the area so that's where we will be spending money next time. This place is new and needs better food and customer service or it won't last. The total lack of customers when we went in on a Saturday should have been the...

It was my first time there, so my only expectation was that it indeed be Mexican food. It took two separate people to take our order. 3 Taco Salads. One ordinary Taco Salad, two Chicken Fajita Taco Salads. Sounds easy enough. Not true, unfortunately. We failed to check our food when at the checkout counter. They already had it bundled up when they got it to us so we simply assumed. Not to be, the chicken fajitas were beef. They put the incorrect prices on our ticket, fortunately they caught it.

The food we did get tasted great. It took just a few minutes to receive someone's food. I hope the other folks weren't disappointed. We were passing through that evening so it's doubtful we'll be back. But if you go, let me say, the restaurant is behind other businesses in a basement type setting. The seating is set up a bit different working within the floorplan they have. It's quiet in there, well lit, music volume is just right. It is in no way a Taco Bell or any other box store type. It's festively decorated. Waitstaff in uniform and quick to get to you. The place was packed so it must be a place that folks enjoy. I'm speaking from personal experience as a...

I really don't want to repeat all the cliches other reviews have mentioned. But this place really does feel like a hidden gem. This restaurant is on the back side of a commercial building. It's easy to find though and it's well worth doing so because this food is good and authentic

Having lived in Southern California for a decade I got used to some amazing Mexican food and it's harder to find that same quality out here. This place definitely raises the bar. My wife's tacos were obviously made with it handmade tortillas. She is in love with tomatillo salsa and this was one of the best she has ever tried. I learned how to make it because she likes it so much and I have to say this is the first tomatillo salsa I've tried that I think is better than my recipe.

I'm barely just scratching the surface with what this place has to offer. There are things on the menu I haven't seen in a Mexican restaurant in a very long time, like Tortas. It's definitely our new favorite...

Had a wonderful lunch at a new place just outside of St. Louis. I wasn't brave enough to try the fried crickets but they offered them 😆 The food was absolutely incredible! #bbthreehive #mexicanfood #tiktokfoodie #food #restaurant #stlouis #missouri

La Oaxaqueña is a gem of a Mexican restaurant that you'll accidentally pass up if you're not looking. Essentially under the USA Halal Meat at the bottom of the hill, once you get into the parking lot it's impossible to miss with the brightly painted entryway. The menu is very helpfully arranged to point out some of their regional specialties one has likely never seen. Chips were good, and salsa was a bit thin for my preference, but had good flavor. The tlayuda was massive, landing on the table atop a plate at least 16" wide, and the pork had just the right amount of char, but wasn't dried out at all. The chorizo quesadilla was also thoroughly enjoyed by my partner. The horchata had a tad more cinnamon than I was used to, but it really set it apart.
