Santa Fe Burrito Grill and Bar Melrose — Restaurant in Melrose

The reviews were so good so I thought I would give it a chance -- I usually order from On the Border. Maybe it's my fault for assuming but I thought the rice and beans would be on the side, not in the burrito. Same with the sour cream which just made it a wet mess.

I was disappointed with the quality of chicken in the burrito. I am used to chicken breast but this was all dark meat with kind of a weird texture, I actually thought it wasn't even chicken at first. On top of that it was pretty bland. So if you like burritos with just white meat, I'd skip this one.

I was excited for the street corn because I dont see it on menus often but for $6, the amount you get barely fills a small paper coffee cup and again, not very flavorful.

I also ordered a small cheese quesadilla for my daughter and there was literally a pinch of cheese in a small tortilla for $6 - this is what I am the most angry about, it was a complete rip off. And the black beans were not served in seperate cup, it was just poured into the same container on the tortilla and made it all soggy. I hope it was just an off night and you really aren't charging $6 for a small tortilla and MAYBE a tablespoon of cheese. It's hard to feed a family today and ordering out is a treat but I could have made a dozen super cheesy quesadillas for the same price.

Maybe the food doesn't travel well, maybe it was an off night, maybe the food is better in the resturant, but everything was sloppy, leaky and barely room temperature.

Response to the manager, Ricardo, please reread. We placed our 2nd order thru your website on 9/8/24 & picked up ourselves. Wasn’t thru DoorDash when we experienced this. You & I actually spoke on the phone. See the date on order. Definitely was this location with the very rude girl.

Good food, so good via Door Dash that we ordered again- this time placing the order online & picking up ourselves. Unfortunately, we will not ever be ordering again due to them leaving cheese off a chicken nachos & then not knowing what to do to fix the situation. When I called to inform them politely, the girl who answered gave an attitude & said they’d give some cheese if I wanted to come pick it up…. I told her the cheese would be cold, and she said “isn’t it always!?” I’m not sure that’s how most eat their nachos- usually it’s with melted cheese… call me crazy! Told her it wasn’t convenient for us to come back out to pickup as half the family was already eating. She then threw the phone down & said, “I can’t do this anymore- can’t take this!!… you deal w it!!” And then a nice man answered but he seemed perplexed at how to resolve this issue of chicken nachos without cheese as well. I appreciate his attempt- but there’s too many other places to try… so we’ll skip this location from here on. Infuriating to have left a tip to this girl & then get so disrespected...

Sharing my experience... Just end up buying burrito bowls(4).. instead of having salsa roja and sour cream in the bowl I asked 2 sets of side , I was charged extra , upon asking they told me they are charging for containers.. which was little odd.. the quantity is also not like before.. not sure if something changed but it would be great if you could inform customers for any extra charges.

You got the burrito bowls that we have on a really special price, $5.49 which includes everything we have to offer but if you need something on side, for the price we need to up charge anything that do not go in the already lowered price. We explained it to you and also we were supposed to charge you for 4 sides, we ended up charging .60 cents for each, only 1.20 extras. We do not inform our customers that something will be extra since everything extra means an up charge. We will be here always to serve you giving you the best prices. Thank you for understanding..
