Very disappointed - Memphis in May weekend. We opted to try this barbecue restaurant after hearing positive reviews as we drove from Louisville to Arkansas. The wait time is quite long with 10 to 15 people in lin however there is a the door apologizing for this and with current situations in restaurants it is not abnormal. We opted to try the two bone rib dinner along with the pork sandwich. The first thing that we notice was the majority of staff were either having a poor demeanor or indifferent at best. After waiting for our food for approximately 15 minutes our order was up and they open up the meal in front of you to make sure that you have the correct meal. Truthfully I was very surprised at the food - the sides that come with the dinner are exceptionally small the ribs themselves were no more than three to four inches long and the amount of barbecue sauce that is put on the food is minimal. We didn't see evidence of it on our sandwich so we asked for a side order of sauce which was provided reluctantly. This is a very odd thing for this particular barbecue establishment as most barbecue restaurants have the sauces ketchup salt pepper hot sauce and any other condiments available on the tables. Perhaps they're doing this from a cost perspective or a sanitation perspective but it is very disruptive in providing service to the customers. You will find that there are a few packages of ketchups that are thrown into the styrofoam container that your meal comes with along with mismatched Cutlery with the fork being in a plastic wrap and the knives being loose. When we sat down to eat it we found both the pork sandwich meat and the ribs at room temperature at best. There is no excuse for a barbecue establishment who is doing the volume that this restaurant is doing to have lukewarm food. In addition to that the sides that came with the dinner were exceptionally small being somewhere between 3 to 4 oz. The french fries were good however there was only 10 to 15 of them and if you look at the photograph it'll give you a perspective of how small the ribs are. The side ribs are approximately 1 in longer than the longest French fry. Side ribs of this nature typically are almost double the length. We found a manager working on the floor and let him know about what had occurred he was already dealing with another customer who was complaining about the cashiers attitude. While he was very apologetic and went to resolve matters we had to wait again 5 to 10 minutes. The pork sandwich was quite good the second time around however again it did not have sauce on it so ensure you ask for some in addition. It should have had sauce because they ask you if you want mild or hot. On the note of sauces their hot sauce is not hot at all- it does have a nice spice to it but it is certainly not hot. There is no additional hot sauce that was found which we could use. While there is readily available napkins there are no wet wipes for your hands and at the time that we were there the garbage bins were overflowing within the restaurant. In our humble opinion given that Memphis is currently in the running of Memphis in May no barbecue establishment should be serving less than Prime quality food. When you look online the price points seem very good however you have to know what you are paying for in terms of wait times, quality, and quantity of food and the lacking of typical barbecue restaurant condiments. We hope you have better luck but as we mentioned we were extremely disappointed. 2/5 stars.

On yesterday, April 23, 2024 my husband and I decided to try Cozy corner for the first time, because we heard all the rave about it when it was broadcasted on channel 13 news, we saw the people there at the restaurant and a few people that we know mentioned it and made it look very tantalizing on the website I don’t know if they were having a bad day yesterday. My husband was very upset and I was upset once I opened up my plate and started to eat because I ordered the rib plate with potato salad and coleslaw I ate more potato salad and coleslaw because it was fairly good. I had to work my way through eating some of the rib tips because for one I was starving for two we paid for it, but the barbecue sauce was so thin. You really couldn’t call it barbecue sauce. It was like just flavored water over the tips. It wasn’t even enough consistency to stick to the ribs , my husband got the rib plate and when I saw his plate, I was like where is your barbecue sauce? It looks like just ribs, again lack of barbecue sauce he got french fries and coleslaw. He had to use Our Home barbecue sauce to add some barbecue sauce and flavor, but he was upset. He took a few bites and said I’ll never go there again. He ended up throwing his plate in the trash! So then we tried to go with the peach cobbler that he ordered for us. He brought the cobbler to me & said “ Bae, Please tell me that I’m overlooking the crust”, so I took the fork, and this was after he heated the peach cobbler up. I said no there’s no crust here. It’s just a bunch of peaches and what kind of juice is this? Peach cobbler has a flaky crust with peaches in a glazed juice with cinnamon and brown sugar. It didn’t look right so I didn’t want to eat mine because I smelled it, I couldn’t really get a peach cobbler smell from it. The look of it was just a complete turn off so when I opened mine to see if it had any crust, I don’t know if that was supposed to be crust, it was like peaches poured into some mush!!! Cozy corner is about 40-42 minutes away from us. He got caught up in rush-hour traffic on the way home with our order, so needless to say he wasn’t happy. I dang sure wasn’t happy because I am a extreme barbecue rib lover all my life and I love me some Memphis barbecue but baby dolls that was not it, I’m old-school so when we barbecued we barbecued every Saturday we had catfish on Friday sometimes catfish with shrimp and Soul food Sunday at my house, our mothers cooked meals throughout the week. So trust and believe when I know what barbecue supposed to look & taste like and truly, this was not it, we will not be trying cozy again because that was a hot mess. He also said the employees appeared to be unprofessional, no hairnet, pants hanging off rear ends. Employees appeared to be just there hanging out is the experience he got from visiting there yesterday.

There's a reason this place has been a staple of the BBQ scene in Memphis since 1977. It ain't fancy, but the food is 10/10 delicious, particularly the ribs and the sweet potato pie. My pictures are terrible (sorry!), but that because I was too busy having a religious BBQ experience to play food stylist for the interwebs. Staff were super nice, food was very fairly priced for the quality and quantity. People came steadily streaming in the entire time I was there, both for to-go orders and dining in, and once I tucked in, it was obvious as to why. I got ribs, Cornish hen, sides of BBQ spaghetti and cole slaw, and a slice of pie w/ a sweet tea. Way too much food even for my big appetite, gonna be a great lunch tomorrow. Cornish hen was excellent, and a really nice sized portion for $11.25. Ribs - 2 bone - were just $7.25 for a plate including 2 sides, and good Lord, those ribs are high up in the running for the best ribs I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot of ribs in my life. I will say that the sides I got were only ok; BBQ spaghetti is a new experience for me; it's good, but not my jam; YMMV. Cole slaw didn't have the freshness and crunch that I crave to help balance out the rich meats and spicy sauces, was the weak link in the overall meal for me. But I'm not mad about it because the mains and dessert were so frickin' good, and the sweet tea was spot on too. And if I was eating that slaw as part of a BBQ sandwich, it'd go just fine. I was so glad I ordered the sweet potato pie - it's literally the standard by which I will judge all sweet potato pies from this day forward. Buttery, crisp, beautifully cooked crust, with no hint of a soggy bottom. Vibrant orange sweet potato filling, perfectly spiced and cooked. Not a hint of the fibrous texture that sometimes shows up in sweet potato pies, just creamy goodness all the way down, topped with a golden brown caramelized crust. If you've gotten this far in the review, just commit to the bit and go there. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you. And FWIW, you can order to-go over the phone if you want; they've got a sizeable dining area, but it all comes in to-go containers anyway.

I just had the WORST customer service experience dealing with the owner Bobby Bradley . I was looking forward to eating at this place until I just had the worst experience ever ! Drove down from DC to this place all for this terrible experience ! The owner was so rude, unprofessional, and belittling. I had already paid for my order and waiting patiently as a young lady cashier gave me a water cup for ice. I ordered a few different meals for my family I was traveling with. We had beverages in the car so i didn't order a drink with our food. I had some sweet tea while waiting in the waiting area . The owner approaches me saying "sir do you mind paying for the tea u stole !" First off, there's a whole different way you can tell someone they have to pay for something instead of accusing someone of "stealing" especially when I had ordered plenty of food and spent money ! So after a brief back n forth about what I thought was a simple misunderstanding, i asked the owner how much for the cup /drink . He said "$2.35" I handed him a $5 bill . I told him I was just trying to get my change and my food and there was no need to be so rude and trying to embarrass me in front of the entire restaurant as he continued to bark at me accusing me of stealing . He proceeds to then ask for my name so he can cancel my order. Of course I wanted my food so I didn't tell him my name as I felt that was a bit much for the small misunderstanding to cancel my entire order ! So he goes to the back to ask the chefs or anybody who remembered my name so he could find my order and cancel it. My order comes out and is ready to be bagged , but he steps in and takes the order and tells them chefs "naa he not getting his order" . The owner did refund the order back to my original card , so no harm , no foul, but what a truly humiliating experience . I've never stole anything a day in my life, to be accused by another black man of stealing from his establishment that I was so excited to spend money at was truly heartbreaking and humiliating. I'll never forget this experience. For those who are looking to find good authentic Memphis bbq with good customer service and a welcoming experience and hospitality, take my advice and look elsewhere . The food was still good I will admit as this was my second time experiencing the food. Btw I had to have my cousin step in and order our food as we still spent money with them because the food is actually good and affordable ! So i will commend them on such good quality tasting food. But for the owner to be that nasty and disrespectful with a customer that was just there to support, it is not worth the...
