Mola’s Pizza — Restaurant in Memphis

Good food. I've liked this place for many years. But their sauce is part of why it's so good. And most of their dishes really need the sauce to be complete. So it's a shame they share so little of it.

As the quantities have dropped, I've learned to ask for "extra sauce" and eventually "lots of extra sauce". I make sure I ask when ordering, so they can charge for the additional sauce if they want to. In the best cases, we each get two one-ounce containers of it. More typically, I end up throwing away half of my dish because it's just too dry and bland without sauce, and there's only enough sauce for half of it.

After throwing away half of a rice ball tonight, I noticed Google prompting me to rate the place. Okay, four stars for always making really good food. But for goodness sake, put "4oz marinara sauce" on the menu with a price. I don't mind paying for it. I do mind eating sauce-based...

The food is very good. Do not go by the prices on this menu, though. They are listed much lower than the actual price. It says that a large white pizza is $10 and that the wings are $7.75. The pizza was actually $20 and the wings are $10. I was totally shocked when I went in to pick it up. They just looked at me like I was crazy when I pointed this out on my phone. They shrugged, and said that this happens all the time, but didn't offer to do anything to make it better. I foolishly paid it and left. If they know it's always a problem, they should contact Google and do something about it so it doesn't seem like a bait and switch. Probably...

I Know we're a long way from new York but this place is so much further from good Italian food. Soggy, oil tasting eggplant. Hard over fried chicken cutlets. Sauce tastes like it's straight out of a can or jar. Cannoli's were eh at best but were $4 for 1. Picture had two in it like That's how it came. Probably wouldn't be so hard on them if they didn't charge premium prices and have am attitude when contacted about the foods quality. Tried to see if they'd make it right, no dice.

Long story short, i highly recommend saving your money and going someplace else. Never going back...
