I had a great lunch here. I called before to verify they had gluten free and vegan options. The person that answered the phone and the server were both knowledgeable about the ingredients in the food. They told me what I could get that would be gluten free and vegan. The menu has a section labeled as vegetables. In that area, some items contain dairy items that is where the server can assist to verify what is vegan. There were quite a few on dinner menu that you can still order at lunch time. On lunch menu the lentils are gluten free and vegan. The lentils were flavorful and had awesome tasting spices. I asked for mild so it had the flavor kick without being spicy 🔥. I got the cauliflower with potato dish. It has like a curry flavor and comes with basmati rice. The lentils are not included in the meal. They are sold separately. Even though they really tasted great all together. Possibly they will consider making a vegetable sampler plate, since buffet is no longer available. The reviews that talked about it made me excited to try it, but I think 🤔 they stopped it as a result of the virus restrictions previously. If you want an awesome, filling, plant based, vegan, gluten free meal then come check this place out. If you want more options that are healthier, follow me here and on Instagram...
Read moreTRASH, JUNK, WASTE OF MONEY! We went to this place first time ( & yes, last time ever) after moving to Memphis in almost 6 years. Reasons for my rant about this restaurant: Hygiene - Filthy table sheets Food - staff is punjabi (figured out as they were talking in punjabi - one of indian states), so how can dal makhni can be so tasteless & under cooked thinking that nobody can make better dal makhni than punjabis. Rajma (kidney beans) were undercooked, completely tasteless). Staff - when we pointed out that dal makhni is undercooked, reaction of one of the servers was “looks like it is only 1-2 kidney beans). I mean, WHAAT? Are you serious in telling me that. Such a rude & arrogant staff, instead of apologizing, this guy was trying g to prove us liars. Lack of basic serving knowledge- We ordered 4 garlic naans, instead of bringing 2 first & then 2 later (so that all does not become cold at the same time), he brought all of them together. Arrogant, no courtesy - while he replaced dal with paneer, our naans became cold & hard to eat, server did not even bother to offer us to replace the cold naan with the fresh one. No courtesy to apologize & adjust the bill by reducing the charges. SAVE YOURSELF! SAVE YOUR MONEY! DON’T GO THERE! THERE ARE BETTER INDIAN RESTAURANTS...
Read moreUpdate 2: 1/13/25 Ordered Veg Biryani, the chef doesnt even know what biryani is. The thing they gave me in Veg Biryani was Tawa PULAO without even the taste of tawa pulao. Just steamed rice salted with some veggies. The interior is still depressing and the table cloths still smell bad.
Its a very average restaurant. Some things are good while most are average I feel. I had the malai kofta which did not have any malai paneer inside, just veggie balls. The balls were pretty dry, the gravy was good to taste. The garlic naan was super fresh but could have used some salt and real butter on the naan. I think overall only the buffet would be worth it. A la carte Indian in Memphis is not worth it in most of the Indian restaurants. While I feel the owners and staff are super friendly and seem like taking care of the place with love, they really need to update and improve quality of food and cleanliness. The biggest issue is that they have not kept it very clean or inviting inside the premises. The table cloths smell like old kitchen clothes when not properly washed with hot water and detergent. These are very basic fixes, that should improve the ambience and smell of the...
