WOW I have to even give a star? I bought a rug a couple months ago here. It smelled so toxic. I did everything to try and get the smell out. Let it sit outside in the sun, cleaned it, but began reading online that the glue backing on some defected rugs can smell and be bad for your health. I reached out to customer service for about a month online. They finally had someone from Home Goods Cordova call me back. She did not want to take the rug back. In fact she said "in all my 12 years I have never had someone return a rug" HUH? I refrained from getting attitude back. She finally said I could return it to store and they would give me store credit. My husband and three year old returned the rug in store and got the angriest employee there I guess. Her name was Shirley. We watched her roll her eyes at the poor guy in front of us so I was ready for attitude as well. SURE ENOUGH.. I told her I had talked to Valerie and what we had discussed about getting a credit. We had the rug so they could obviously smell it if they wanted to. Instead we kept getting huffing and eye rolls. She finally was almost done crediting us back but she said loudly this would be the last time I could return anything without a receipt (like I was a scammer and needed scolding). I told her I would be cancelling my tjx rewards card and she made some slick comment. She then proceeded to change up the overly nice voice we all get in the South when we are mad. Yesterday (8/11/2025), I went in this store to exchange some items I’d bought the day before at the collierville location. I had my receipt and also my tags for each item I wanted to exchange. The store clerk (older black woman with gray ponytail) said that she had to refund the money back to my card and couldn’t allow me to exchange my items. I stated that I did not want a refund because it’s gonna take 7-10 days for the money to be back on my card. I said I want to exchange today so I didn’t have to wait and she said in a very loud rude voice “THATS NOT GONNA HAPPEN”!!

My mind was blown and I was hurt at the rudeness and how personal this felt! So instead of me arguing with her I asked to speak with her manager.

As her manager (black female with blonde baby Afro) walked up she already had a look on her face as if I had did something wrong just by being a customer. The same store clerk proceeded to tell her that I wanted an exchange but with the stores policy she had to refund my money back to my card and couldn’t allow me to exchange. The manager then said very rudely ma’am she can’t go against our store policy. Our store policy is to refund it back to your card. I told her I didn’t want to wait that long for money to come back to my card. She then offered me a gift card! I was so very hurt and very offended! I told her no I didn’t want a gift card bc if I didn’t use up all the money as I exchanged items that I wanted the rest of the money to go back to my card! I will never shop there again. I was humiliated. I felt hurt and embarrassed in front of all their customers just because I wanted...

The place is way overpriced everything is overpriced way too expensive .I used to work there and instead of promoting me and listening to my ideas they fired me . All they did was use me as a work horse unloading trucks and building furniture and loading furniture in folks cars and moving furniture around . They got plenty of furniture but wait till its on clearance till you buy it There are plenty of rungs too i used to hang them up take them down and load them up in customers cars like i said though wait till clearance to buy anything in this store way too girly and even clearance is over priced most of the time . Not a store for men at all unless there Gay then maybe as everything is overpriced when i worked there i did not earn enough to shop there but i used my discount at tj maxx and Marshalls as all three are owned by the same...
