This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I had five separate orders. Gwen, the cashier, took all of my orders with a smile and a beautiful disposition!!!! She really did. I felt great leaving this restaurant. I say this because this restaurant was PACKED with people eating in, people in line to pick up orders and people placing orders. She HANDLED that with a smile. I loved my food. My breast was over cooked BUT edible. My co-workers stated her meat loaf was "GOOD". Another coworker stated there was sugar in her black eyed peas. 🤮🤮🤮 I don't understand that because not everyone eats sugar. Nor do they want it in their food. My ONLY complaint is the peaches in the peach cobbler were cut into squares. (It wasn't too sugary and could have used a little more butter). They looked like frozen carrots in a bag. It is called PEACH cobbler. So cutting those peaches like that took away the flavor of the cobbler. Not good (I know what I'm talking about because My mama could COOK)!!!!! I won't purchase it again. My personal taste. Overall, it was a positive experience. The "peach cobbler". Too much dough and a COMPLETELY bad experience looking at square peaches.

This was my first time coming here. I ordered inside and took my food home. Ambiance: 5/10…it’s a little dark and dated…it’s not very inviting, I would never want to dine-in here Customer service: 9/10, no complaints, but the wait to place my order was kind of long because the person taking to-go orders, were also running the food out to dine-in customers. I ordered: • Meatloaf…4/10 o No flavor, no seasoning o Good quality beef and large portion • black eyed peas…2/10 o salty, salty, salty o no flavor except salt o Cooked perfectly (not over cooked, not under cooked, just salty) • mac and cheese…7/10 o not much flavor o pasta overcooked o reheats well and is homemade from scratch, not boxed and • Country fried steak…8/10 o Huge chunk of good quality meat, they do not pound the cube steak before cooking it o Needs a little bit more seasoning, but taste good • Candied yams…8/10 o fresh, homemade using real sweet potatoes, not canned yams o perfectly candied o too much nutmeg o needs more butter after they have candied • Mash potatoes and gravy…6/10 o fresh, homemade using real potatoes o salty, salty, salty

Our first experience wasn’t the best. We arrived at 1:50 (during their lunch period, 11-2). We had to track down someone to seat us (first red flag). The hostess wasn’t friendly at all. No smiles, no greetings, nothing. After being seated our drink orders were taken along with our food order. The food did NOT come out until 2:48pm, almost an hour later!!! No one came to our section to say “sorry for the wait”, offer to refill our drinks, or anything. Other ppl where seated at other tables and had to wait longer for their food though they were there way before us! Once our food arrived, everything looked great...until we looked closer at the food we had ordered and saw that the meatloaf was pink on the inside, and the kids’ spaghetti meat was also pink. And on the bill, they automatically take out a tip at 20%. The only pros to visiting were: the restrooms and dining area was clean, to-go area was in and out quickly, and the food that was edible, was well seasoned. Oh, and their sweet tea and cornbread was amazing. If we decide to visit again it’ll possibly be when they’re less busy.

My family and I used to come to your restaurant every time we were in Memphis, once we heard of you. The last three times we have come has truly been a disappointment! The quality of the food is not the same, the menu items have slimmed from the options you began with, the pork chops have gone to breakfast pork chops, and the service has been absolutely terrible these last times! I'm only going to tell you about our last visit to your establishment. The most recent time, we wanted to give you another try so we came in. We came as a family of five and although it was a busy time, it took a long time for our waitress to greet and serve us. She was very short and inattentive to us, but had plenty of time to be very attentive to her phone every chance she could take! When our partial order came out, we were surprised to be cheated on our Kam's pork chops! What was so bad is that when asked, the server insulted us by telling us "that's it. Those are center cut chops." We asked where the rest of the pork chops were and she said "that's it. That's how they are." These pork chops WERE NOT THE WHOLE PORK CHOP! They look as if they had been cut!!! We grocery shop and cook at home! We know what center cut chops look like! They barely had gravy on them and we ordered extra gravy. What made matters worse is when we asked for a manager, preferably the kitchen manager, the server replied, "You are speaking to one." My husband said, "Well, I don't want it then!" She took the plate to the manager/owner who was sitting at a round table not far from us, and informed them of the issue. WORSE: The manager/owner(s) look directly at us and NOT ONE TIME did you come to speak, make it right, apologize, or make any effort to get further understanding, or the truth! The gravy now is not the same gravy. Now it tastes like gravy from a jar/can! The bell peppers and onions are now often absent in this dish (when we get it), OR are just dropped in, seemingly at the last minute. Our dishes of sides had food all over the outside of them. Although the order of Kam's Pork Chops was taken off the ticket, we got the ticket and were charged a $7.99 gratuity!!!! When asked about the charge, we were told "it's because you have five people." The server never said we would have a gratuity charge just because five people sat at the table! You didn't even serve 5 meals!!!! We aren't sure what exactly is going on; but this has not been the quality of food or service we were accustomed to from Southern Hands. We will not be back or continue to support you. But, I do hope you improve your quality of food and customer service and they become...

If you want great tasting food do not come here. I order 2 kidmeals, one was a baked chicken breast and mashpotaoes and the other meal was meatloaf and green beans. My mom also order her some food as well. Twice me and my mom, had to send the food back. We still were never satisfied at the end either. We just simply ate it so we didn't have to complain anymore. The baked chicken was so tough that it hurt my teeth and it was cold. The mashpotaoes was steaming hot and you could tell the employees put the bowl of mashpotaoes in the microwave. The meatloaf was cold too, but to my surprise the green beans were good, but it was not of fresh quality, it was definitely canned. Honestly all the food on the menu is probably all ready made and prepped instead of cook to order, which to some extent I can understand depending on what it is,but I'm all about freshness when it comes to food. How would you feel if someone serve you something that was already ready? The kids meals come with a drink but no refills. What a bummer. The server was rude, never smile, made me feel very unwelcome .The owner who has a serious stuttering problem is not very friendly either and explained that the kids drinks don't come with refills because they are free. That just show they are money hungry only. They dont care about the other aspects of it, like the food quality, taste, experience, etc. It was truly a bad experience and the staff was rude. Staff would even go off on you if you complain and not to your face but to other staff at a distance but you could clearly hear them. No wonder they close the other location in the Memphis TN, Whitehaven area. I will never go back and I am gonna let all my friends and family in person and on social media know about this place. Hopefully their other locations are a...

If I could give them no stars, I would. I wanted to place an order for catering. I did as the website instructed and emailed the two different email addresses that were listed. I sent them each 2 messages. I never got a reply. I didn't sweat it because I figured they were busy. I finally got someone on the phone when I called the Winchester location. I was told by "customer service" that the email addresses that were on the website aren't valid. How would I know that? Then I was told that not all of the locations have phones after I explained that I had a hard time getting someone to answer at any location. What?! In addition to that, only 2 locations even have a prompt for a customer service representative. I was eventually given the email address to who I needed to speak with. I explained that I am a first responder and that I am not able to leave work on a whim and that I wanted to place an order for pickup. She pretty much told me that she was busier than me because she was working 16 hour days.....when I work 24 and save lives for a living. Anyway, I digress. I asked when I could pay and pick up and told her I'd have someone else to get it for me. She told me I couldn't pay until pick up. Even after I told her I was sending someone else, she never disclosed that they'd be closing HOURS earlier than usual. I called 8 times today to get their closing time. No one ever answered. My sister made it to the assigned location on Kirby before 5pm and they were closed. Per Google, they close at 8....but before 5???? I'm disgusted with the lack of customer service. It's been 1 big inconvenience and I'll never bother with them again for any...
