Phó Só 8 — Restaurant in Memphis

The WORST service and food that I ever had. The poker face man threated me three times "NEVER COME BACK TO MY RESTAURANT, OKAY?" in front of other customers. I ordered one #10 pork chop togo. After back to car, I found the pork is over cooked. I have had the same order more than ten times in the past many years. Never seen such overcooked and black in a whole big piece of the pork chop. The man quibble said, some people like it, the vietnamese pork chop should cook like this way. I am Asian too, I never heard Vietnanese eat "overcooked" meat in my whole life. I said "No, the black part is too big this time and taste bitter this time". I was trying to let him recook a order for me. That's all I was trying to. However, he became mad and almost shout "you never comeback to my restaurant" and said three times. I was almost shocked. I am a man even felt threat; how about a lady in front of him??? I cannot believe there is such bad service restaurants. He returned $13 cash to me. I just left without thinking. After back home, I realized I paid more than 13 dollars on my credit card. The first time I tried this place I was very skeptical due to reviews and seeing that they failed inspection a while back, but their ratings improved and I also heard good things about the food. My first experience was ok, service was terrible (from the old man in the front) food was good. I went back a second time and after ordering my food and paying my money the rude old mane began to cough. Which blew me because it’s during this pandemic and he did not take any health precautions he just proceeded with completing my order. I thought maybe he’ll go to the back and wash his hands, but he didn’t. He continued to cough and proceeded to grab people’s orders that were dining in along wit take-out. The old man came back to the register with his nose running wiped his nose with his hand, and proceeded taking cash payments, and handing out food with snot on his hand. I was in shock just standing there like wow this is VERY disgusting. Not one time did he sanitize nor was his hands. I immediately asked for my money back and of course he gave me hell because the food was completely done but I refused to take it. I wasn’t sure if he had been handling the food when he did disappear for a while to help out in the back or not, I wasn’t taking...

The food is consistently delicious every single time we visit. The flavors are rich and authentic, and the quality never changes — it always tastes just as amazing as the first time.

The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, especially considering how much food you get. We’ve tried several other Vietnamese restaurants around Memphis, but nothing compares to this one. After a few visits, we just stopped going anywhere else — this spot has truly set the bar high!
