Dunkin' — Restaurant in Menasha

Look, we all go to Dunkin for the same reason; mediocre but consistent coffee and pastry at a price that is only slightly unreasonably high. I’m a transplant from New England who has gone to a Dunkin nearly every day of my adult life and I am sad to say that even after giving this location a handful of chances to rule out a bad day or two, it’s the worst one I’ve been to. Today was the muffin that broke the camels back.

I don’t understand what this location in particular does to their coffee but it has more times than not has a terrible, bitter aftertaste no matter how many excess calories of cream, sugar, and flavoring I add. Maybe the tap lines are not cleaned with enough regularity but truly, there seems to be a 2/3 chance of getting spit-take bad tasting coffee here. I noticed they added nitro cold brew to the menu so figured I would try that out, I like the added smooth creaminess this adds to the coffee but I knew it was wrong as soon as it lacked the distinct nitrogen bubbles (and was served over ice!). They only offer this in a small (because it is supposed to be served without ice) and charge a premium for it over the cold brew or regular blend, and yet come to discover that at least at this location it is actually just their regular cold brew! And on top of that, it today has that same awful bitter aftertaste that makes me suspicious that it may actually be the original blend just served out of different tap heads; I got black cold brew, nitro, and original blend today and tried them side by side and they all taste and look exactly the same. I can only assume this location is scamming customers by offering the same product under different names and prices.

But even all that was not the last strike for me with this location.

I’m not a particularly picky person; I know all restaurants have some amount of issues with pests and cleanliness from time to time so it hasn’t really bothered me all that much to see an alarming number of fruit flies and other insects swarming around inside their pastry case. Just the cost of doing business when you are getting food from an establishment such as this. However, today as I took my first bite of a muffin that actually looked quite appetizing, I was horrified to be greeted by a familiar essence, one that I was only accustomed to smelling and not tasting. My friends, my muffin tasted distinctly of the smell of urinal cakes. I can only assume the muffin tray was stored near the bathroom or bathroom products for some length of time for it to absorb that smell to such an extent but whatever the case I feel utterly sick to my stomach remembering that bite.

So, that is it. That’s my sad story of why I will not return to this Dunkin...

So, it doesn't seem like I should be offended. I am imagining right now, an angry manager and/or other person in their position, accusing me and coming at me for defamation. Well, that isn't what my intuition says. My intuition knows what to expect from her. How she will treat me. How negatively she will treat me. The harassment. The bullying. The bad treatment. I can already sense it. Questioning. Whether the exclamation point is a good thing. A bad thing. A negative thing. Who knows. Could even be open to interpretation, and/or execution (...in and of the words, line of thought/process/etc.).

So, of course. I have to end this review with the following ((concluding)) statements: [Hiring manager] didn't seem very friendly. Poor management. Because I am a person who stands up for my own sense of dignity and respect. I actually care about myself. Unlike most...

Ya this place was not great. I went inside and immediately was hit with a smell I can only describe as manure like? I went up to the counter and was grossed out by how gross the floors and counters were. I know things get busy and sometimes the messes build up but this was not one of those situations. I ordered a coffee and a donut. I was given my coffee before the girls went back to talking behind the counter. I waited for awhile before realizing I was not going to get the donut I ordered ( I was the only person in the store and there were no cars going through the drive thru) idk not impressed by the service and how the girls were being pretty unprofessional for the work place.
