Finding pupusas in Menlo Park is not easy, so when I saw a few weeks ago this place was opening up I got excited. Today I went there for lunch. From outside, this place doesn't seem attractive but inside you find a modern well-designed cozy place with an open kitchen. I ordered two pupusas and horchata (note: you order at the counter and they call your number when food is ready). Food was prepared very quickly. The horchata was delicious, but it would be better if they add ice as it was not that cold. The pupusas looked like what I was expecting ( see photos) and the taste was good.
Things that could improve: As a person that grew up eating pupusas, I know what a good pupusa is-- the inside ingredients (e.g. cheese, beans, pork) are normally well mixed together and distributed evenly in the pupusa....at this place the cheese was on one side, the beans on another and the pork on another side in the pupusa.....although the ingredients tasted good i felt disappointed they were not properly mixed to have a 100% pupusa.-----i hope next time i go it is better :)
Also, I was surprised with the pupusa price $4 dollars! Every place in san francisco or south bay area, the pupusa prices are below $3 dollars.....
Most items in the menu are mexican food, the pupusas are...
Read moreI wanted some good mexican food. I'm not familiar with the area, was visiting from southern california. Anyways we wanted to go to a different place but made a wrong turn, and somehow ended up at this place. The place looked like itd be ok, mexican music playing, it had the look too. Ordered some tacos, shrimp and asada. When the food came it looked pretty good. Tasted the asada tacos, the meat had no flavor whatsoever. It tasted like somebody boiled it in water and didnt even bother to put salt or anything. It was absolutely a no no. The shrimp taco was nothing special either, other then the flavor of the shrimp it was not enjoyable. I would not recommend this place to nobody. And its pricey on top of...
Read moreHello my friends, I come to tell you that this establishment is now one of preferred Latino food places. I ordered tacos al pastor, and as a man who has been eating tacos for a majority of his life at home and outside, I can vouch for the tacos, they straight bussin fellas. I did not give a 5/5 because I still have a long journey to taste all the tacos I can, if I feel this establishment holds up to the bussin score, I will for sure come back and give it a 4.5. Ladies where nice, area is small, but feels nice like if I was back in Mexico with my grandma in her lunch shack where she would whip up cazuelas of...
