I visited this store yesterday to pick up a box of fuses. When I went to pay the man, who seemed to be in charge, ran me up for a total of $9.25. I gave him a $20 and he gave me $.75 in change. When I told him I gave him $20, he treated me like I was a thief and argued with me in front of all the other customers. He finally said he would go check the video. After waiting for almost 20 minutes, he returned and gave me my $10 in correct change. This encounter has left such a bad taste that I will NEVER pay cash in this store and highly recommend that all customers do the same. I asked why I did not get the credit for recycling my old Soda Stream cartridges, and they said that I was wrong and that all Ace Hardwares are the same. However, some of their employees wear masks well below the nose, which is equivalent to not wearing one at all. Transmission of COVID is serious and can occur even if one is vaccinated.
