MOTHER DAY. I wanted to take my Mother and Father here for Mother's Day since we used to go there years ago and always had wonderful service and good food. Today was a completely different experience. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by a waitress from 20 feet away who hastily told us "once you are seated it will take an hour before you receive your food, which we were okay with since we figured we could order coffee and chat while we wait. My mother has severe back pain and my father hip pain, in which he uses a cane to help support him. We waited for 10 minutes, standing, and no one came to seat us, even though there were seats available. One gentleman came up to us and said, "they must be really short staffed because we've been waiting a long time after being seated and have yet to order our drinks or food." We decided to leave and went to the Hometown Family Restaurant, which was also extremely busy, but we were seated immediately, ordered our food and received delicious, hot food in a very timely manner. The prices at Perkins have become ridiculous and service absolutely terrible. We felt like we were being told to go away. So, we did, and we will most likely never return. My father has lives in Menominee and knows everyone and will tell his friends the service we received, which is usually the worst nightmare for a business who relies on the locals to stay in business. This incident has certainly tarnished the local reputation of Perkins, a fact that my father, being a local, will not hesitate to share. I suppose you get enough business from people traveling who don't know any...
Read moreVisited on a Tuesday morning around 11 AM with 8 people (4 adults and 4 kids). Parking is pretty good. Went inside and stood waiting to be seated. I was acknowledged by someone saying "be with you in a minute" but 10 minutes later still standing there. The rest of my party arrived and someone finally came up and asked me how many we had. I told her 8 and she proceeded to walk away without saying anything. We followed and she pushed two six-top tables together while grunting. We ordered drinks, we ordered an water with lemon, which showed up with no lemon. We ordered extra butter for toast, and it came with no butter. We ordered french toast for a child and got an adult order of french toast with butter (which was not specified on the menu). The eggs were not seasoned at all. We ordered a water refill and it never arrived. Also ordered potatos and bacon to go and the server said she would have it ready when we're leaving but never brought it out. There were several elderly people, including one man who was picking his flaking skin off and throwing it on the floor.
Overall, we had a bad experience and cannot recommend...
Read moreMy friends and I were sadly very disappointed in our experience. When we first arrived we waited for a few minutes before the hostess came out from the back. She wasn't rude, but wasn't friendly either. Our waitress Chloe was a lot like her. Not rude, but just very matter of fact. I expect some personality from the wait staff. Our food is where things went from bad to worse. One of my friends ordered the California eggs Benedict while my other friend and I ordered the breakfast skillet. All three of us didn't like our food. From the fake cheese sauce that congealed into the hash browns to the very overcooked corned beef hash, and almost everything in between, we were left disappointed. And it seemed to be that most people didn't like their food either, as there were plates being left more than half full all over the restaurant. I don't know if no one there cares or what, but we won't be going back. If it weren't for the fact that we've eaten at other Perkins without problems, I would never eat at...
