Starbucks — Restaurant in Merced

I had problems with the amenities provided. My laptop died and none of the outlets worked in the store. There were lots of people in the store that I don't believe were customers which was distracting and I had to work my way through them in my search for an outlet. There were lots of screening kids that were extremely distracting. I eventually found a power strip but it was plugged into itself with no outlet I site. It's like they don't want to provide power outlets anymore. I think it's to keep out homeless.Their medium roast is pretty tasty but a strait black coffee should not cost near $3. The high priced coffee is not worth it if you can't actually get any work done. I road my bike there and there was no place to chain a bike so I had to chain it to a light post in the parking lot. In the end I ended up only getting half the work done I had planned and just had to wait around frustrated till it was time to leave.

Update** I was able to talk to one of the employees there. I was told that the power would be shut off for the next couple of months because of the large number of homeless using the outlets. I understand why Starbucks is reacting in this way but I think it is not the right choice. And I'll be keeping my review at 2 stars. I understand that it is difficult to police the homeless and kick then out for loitering however it doesn't change the fact that the place is now taking some basic amendities. Starbucks, the city of Merced and the Merced PD should work on a solution that doesn't affect the paying customers of the store. I really have a lot of different complaints and disappointments to post but now's not the time. It's too bad because this is the closest, most accessible starbux for my location and the 6-7 different types of horrible service, treatment by staff and poorly made product would embarrass and infuriate me if I were a CEO or distrct/ regional manager of this company. Every time I order a drink its slow, tastes like some other drink and afterwards, when I need to remove the drink I purchased via restroom, I am confronted and told the restroom is only for customers! What a smack in the face. Ignorant, cocky, judgmental, Snobbish and lazy cafe preparers is how I must report of this most unsatisfactory experience with an American favorite. They need a course in work ethics, learn empathy for their variety of customers and start paying attention to who just bought a $4.75 Grande 45 minutes prior before threatening the wrong person to not use the facilities unless "u hurry up and buy." Last note* if u are in a hurry to get a fast cup of Joe before work, etc., I suggest getting a McCafe if you don't have 30-45 minutes to spare... maybe I will,try one last visit and I'm guessing I will take off another star on the rating above😔sad...
