Corner Kitchen — Restaurant in Mercer

Let me start off by saying I LOVE a good diner! So when a friend & I were in the area we decided to try this place. Right away the waitress had a matter of fact tone with us that wasn't exactly rude but it definitely wasn't friendly either. I didn't think much about it until I overheard her with other customers and her tone was different. I also couldn't help but notice that all the other customers were decently older than us. We got our food and it was delicious! However the waitress wouldn't know if it was or not because she never decided to even bother checking back with us, not once. In fact I had to go get HER when we were done and waiting for the check and my to go order as well. I'm not sure if it was just us or if she has something against younger people but it was very obvious after paying a bit of attention that she def didn't care for us for some reason. Anyway the food was definitely really good and very well priced. I'm glad I got to try the food here but overall I don't see myself eating here again. We like to dine in mom and pops cafe's. Well you know I'm sorry to say but if I had to rate this with a 1-10 rating it definitely would get a 2. The Cafe was some what clean. The waitress was somewhat friendly. I watched her yell at a young boy to wait your turn I'm busy waiting on other folks. Then the food ( don't get me wrong I ate what I ordered ). I ordered the chilly cheese dog with fries and coleslaw. Well the hot dogs were burnt the sause was so spicy hot with no warning, the cheese was shredded cheese not nacho cheese as you would expect. Then the coleslaw was so runnie you could squeeze the milk out of it. Then the drink wow that was really bad. The waitress brought out a glass a straw and a can of soda. It was a can of soda that you pay .75 cents for out of a soda machine they charge you $2.00 dollars for it it was lukewarm, I did ask for no ice for personal reasons and I ended up with a warm soda to drink. Sorry to say when I'm done with the review it will always stay the same. So all I can say is don't expect the best...

Kind people, but prices are outrageous for the quality of food and the soda situation where they bring you a cup with ice and a can. thats over priced as well. we sat down to eat, seen she brought us cans of soda and then we seen the prices. we got up and left. i have eaten there multiple times before and the quality isn't there either. i see the reviews and its a small town so what do you expect but a bunch of good reviews, honestly its a classical setting of old cafe style scenery. but its just disgusting the food is nasty and you can smell the grime from the back and most of the food is smothered in grease. honestly they don't got the bang...
