Opinion Update* The worst part was that the employee who spoke Spanish apologized to me and explained that the owner was very strict and classist, which really rubbed me the wrong way.
It's unfortunate to see a restaurant with such discriminatory policies and an owner who is unwilling to accommodate all customers. I will definitely not be returning and will be warning my friends and colleagues to avoid this place.
I only wanted 2 empanadas, I don't understand how long it could take to charge me and pack them in a bag. I want to clarify that they had not given me the customer's order yet.
OPINION:
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. I work in delivery and was waiting for an order to be prepared, so I decided to buy two empanadas from the restaurant while I waited. However, the owner or employee refused to sell them to me, stating that I had to come back after finishing my delivery. After waiting almost 10 minutes for my food order to be ready, I was finally given it with a rude attitude. I will never return to this establishment and would not recommend it to anyone.
Read morePros- Beautiful interior, clean & spacious. Great Empanada choices & sweet options as well. Friendly staff. Good location & plenty of parking. Foods were packed with care. Empanadas were beautifully crafty, perfectly heated temperature & delicious. I had the Italian sausage and cheese. Good balanced flavor, not overly salty. The lemon-coconut scone was buttery & tart. Everything tasted fresh! Cons- Wine & beer prices are listed, but no food items had prices. Very odd, standing inside of the store, I needed to open their website to see the prices and hope they were still current. Owner stated to me that a lot of places don't list prices. What‽ However, they do have prices on their beer & wine. After that conversation, I enquired if the sauces on display are included with an order. I was told they were an extra charge. Then dead silence as I looked at them and said, "Do I need to ask the price on those too"? Sign out front says, "No Public Restrooms". I'm the Public. I'm a paying customer, but you don't have a restroom for me? But I did noticed a restroom. Maybe for customers only, but then the sign should say that, not none available. Verdict- Would I return? The empanadas were good & the pricing fair, but I won't be standing there pointing to each one and...
Read moreSlightly concealed location but a lovely place for casual drinks and dine-in with friends. The owner and the host were extremely friendly and attentive. They would smile to you, telling you stories of this place, their Empanadas, and the related Argentina food culture.
Ordered 5 Empanadas for takeout and my favorite ones were Carne Picante, Chorizo Potato and Vegan Curry. First time trying baked Empanadas, which, according to the host, was the original method of cooking. Comparing to Tango's fried Empanadas, the baked version has a lighter and fluffier texture. Hard to judge which one tastes better but the Empanadas here are definitely more consistent in terms of color (temperature), shape, size, dough texture, and freshness of ingredients.
The 2 dipping sauces they have were delightful too, though I was told Argentina people don't dip their Empanadas in anything when eating them. Still, worth trying.
Will visit again for dine-in...
