Heard about this store from a friend. Tough to find. It is behind Sonic on Fairview. The store is larger than you think by just looking at it. They have a huge selection of clothing, furniture, rugs, dry and canned goods, shoes, kitchen and home items and more.
Maybe I have been under my rock for too long... I don't think I am terribly out of touch with prices, but I found the prices at Steelz as high as normal discount store retail prices. Some items were higher than what I can find at Grocery Outlet, Wal-Mart, and misc. sales. Steelz does not take returns. Major sticker shock on rugs, furniture, kitchenware and especially left over holiday merch. Some items had slightly lower prices. The items were used, or only 1/2 full boxes of crackers/snacks. When you visit them, and I hope you do, read. Read read read what is hand written on the packages as almost all items are final sales.
There were some bargains to be had, I myself spent a hundred and thirty some bucks. Word of warning: know your retail prices and take your pbone to price check. The store is clean, mostly organized ( I spent some time rearranging their shoe dept) prices are clearly displayed and everyone seemed to be busy stocking the new items. So busy in fact that one cashier made several people willing to give her our money wait. Not a minute, but several. Hopeful they will be retrained in basic customer service, and not treat customers as an inconvenience.
So, enough ragging on these poor folks. If you need kids clothes, coats, packaged dry goods, office supplies, shoes, or some Costco items, go get 'm. There is always a learning curve and every new business needs time to get on top of their game.
Bottom line? I will be back. I am eager to see their new selection as the inventory is ever changing. I had a great time shopping there, and found one of the stockers to be very sweet.
Definately go have a look!! I think you will enjoy it and find...
Read moreI always love finding a good deal, and Steelz is full of them. They sell overstocked items, returns, open package, discontinued stock, slightly defective or damaged merchandise etc. They have everything from a random selection of food to clothing, from furniture to cleaning supplies, lots of kitchen stuff,, electronics and a varied random assortment of just about evening else. You never know what you will find, so I like to cruise all of the isles everytime just hoping to find a unique treasure or the random oddball gift for a friend or a great deal for something already on my shopping list. As a person who really enjoys shopping at thrift stores and checking out garage sales this store is a great fit for me. The merchandise is mostly new, although it may have been purchased and returned at another retailer or damaged in shipping or have mislabeled packaging. Everything in the store is discounted and a great deal. Today they had some really sweet drones for sale marked down to $25! I will go back for one tomorrow, today I picked up a new pair of shoes for just $8 and a really sweet pair of slippers that have the sole of an actual shoe. I recommend this store often to friends and family. By the way, if they happen to have unicorn popcorn in stock it...
Read moreI have now purchased quite a few things at Steelz. To start, I shopped all day today to find a modest well priced swimsuit. We went to Costco, the mall, various discount stores and found some that could maybe work at a $60 or higher price tag. Steelz was my last store. We bought two very nice quality Speedo swimsuits, one for $11 and one for $15. A different day we purchased 18 laser tag guns plus a tower unit for 4 guns for $25 and 2 guns with a tower for $25. We are going to have a laser tag birthday party with them, total cost $125. I already owned 2 of them that I purchaseda year before at another store on sale for more like $35 for just two guns. I am glad I know this store exists. Other items I purchased there: badminton set, pajamas, exercise clothes, an ab exercise belt. They seem to have good seasonal items. This store really does have some good discounts better than Ross, Marshall's, Costco, or any other discount store. I would say they are different than those stores though because they don't have a large inventory of say shoes, beauty items, clothes. But they do have these items at great prizes. They have a food section but that is not at a...
