Pros- I've been meaning to go for a while now, and I'm so glad that I did! Ample free parking directly in front. Beyond wonderful! Exceptional quality food. Beautiful & clean dining area. Gracious staff. Succulent pastries that are made on-site. It's literally a hidden gem in Meridian. Portions are ample. Food is served at the correct temperature. The presentation is stunning as well. 1st visit, you order and pay at the counter, then select a seat, and they'll bring the food to you. I had the Potato & Mushroom Pierogis, and I couldn't be happier. Approximately 2 dozen delicate potato pillows, gently cooked in butter and served with sauteed mushrooms & a dollop of sour cream. Plated on a beautiful wooden serving tray with metal utensils. I also enjoyed the Cabbage Salad (vinegar-based, no mayo). Again, it was a nice presentation with fresh & delicious taste. I enjoyed a refreshing tomato juice with my lunch that perfectly married all the flavors in a symphony of delight! I'm seriously not exaggerating, I was VERY HAPPY with my experience. 2nd visit, I came specifically for their fresh baked pastries, so I ordered a Bear Claw & Cafe Breve. The sweet worker/hostess/server/cashier (many hats!) suggested to warm-up the pastry, and that was a great idea. The creamy espresso had the perfect foamy head. I already can't wait to return and try more of their wonderful menu items. . Cons- They need more than one set of salt/pepper shakers, and I wish they were open earlier, so I could go...

Today was my first visit to Sunflower Bakery & Cafe. I say "my first", because I promise you there will be more visits! In summary, there is nothing about this new place that I do not like!

This little bakery/breakfast/lunch spot has a very nice atmosphere, and the service was exceedingly nice. And let me tell you, the food that we were blessed with today was off-the-charts delicious.

I ordered the Chicken Bacon Toast, and my wife ordered the Chicken Pesto Sandwich. We both let each other try the other's lunch item, and I think the Chicken Pesto beat the Chicken Bacon by a tiny bit, but both of these items were incredible. It is so wonderful to eat something as apparently simple as a deli sandwich, and experience the wonderful joy that emerges from the effort of an artistic cook or chef. That is just what happened to us today! All of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and the bread for both sandwiches was amazing!

For dessert, I had the last strawberry pastry of the day, lightly heated, and it was wonderful as well.

If you are in Meridian, or anyplace else within the Treasure Valley, I would highly recommend Sunflower for lunch! Next time I come I think I'll try something from their...

Well I just went to Sunflower Bakery & Cafe in Meridian for the first time, and I'm impressed! I happened to see it when dealing with DMV nonsense, and after that bureaucracy it redeemed my day. I bought the French orange almond cake and an iced latte, and got my boyfriend an almond bear claw to go. The cake I took home (white swirly one) was a strange flavor and we didn't enjoy it, but that's okay. The staff is really pleasant and efficient. The environment is pretty and clean and I love the sunflower aesthetic. 🌻 The almond cake was delightful. Tender, well flavored, not too sweet, the crumb and texture was perfection. The coffee was good as well. It looks like they sell large bags of pierogi to go in the back. My boyfriend told me the almond bear was flaky and perfect, and kept saying "wow." I am definitely returning! Highly recommend.

Added: salmon toast, which was amazing, and almond croissant. The macarons are beautiful as well. I took home a coconut coffee one and a pistachio one which I think...
