Wednesday at 10am was a good time to visit. Not crowded and pleasant atmosphere. My dining companion had the breakfast tacos and I had the chicken wrap. The pricing is not found on the web site but an average of $13 to $15 per plate is close. I think with egg pricing going up and down, they have to keep pricing fluid to match the times but it would be nice if they had pricing beforehand so a person could decide. Fries are closer to shoestring that I received with my wrap and I prefer thicker but they have other options like tots or salad. The wrap was big and tasty. A bit spicy which I don't prefer but seems restaurants are going to that these days with the specialty sauces. The breakfast tacos you receive 3 in a taco stand and she said they were good. For the price, maybe a few hashbrowns? Our server was good but hesitant and I think she was learning the ropes. She did not know the soup nor if it was spicy when she found out. Another server chimed in it was. We also had to ask if we pay at the table or go up since the card was laying there for a bit. They need to offer Coke Zero. The diet Coke tased a bit off but not surprising as that is usually the case at diners for soda. Overall, my first visit was OK. Nothing spectacular. Seating in the chairs was uncomfortable but doable. Prices were higher but in line with others these days. Conclusion: OK and will be OK for some but not all. Wait time on the food was a bit long as lunch diners go. 15-20 minutes. To the point I was wondering then it came out and they were not to busy either. I was a few minutes late getting back to work. That will make or break a lunch diner if they are not prompt with getting you your food. Overall, OK but will probably stick with Express for...
Read moreGood afternoon, This is such a disappointment for me. I've heard good reviews and bad reviews. Today I experienced both. Service was good when they wanted to bring the check. Promptly. My friend and I are both culinary-trained chefs, With over 73 years combined. I have been trained worldwide and nationally. My friend has done fine dining as well as myself. Not only did we wait 30 minutes. But best of all, her waffle was cold and they put cold butter on top, which wouldn't even melt. There was never any syrup brought to the table. Her eggs were cold, But get this, the plate was hot. She never did get asked if she needed more coffee. Now mine, Hah, Hot plate, nice touch. Eggs Benedict, I asked for holladaise on the side, Two under-toasted English muffins, way too soft. 5 pieces of less than fork-tine-sized corned beef, cubed.. What? Who does that on a bene'? Not shredded! Said it was made in-house. Scrambled together. Mind you none of this was on muffin except.... This is the kicker, Two messed-up poached eggs, one of which had no yolk, The manager said, "Well it probably broke on the plate" They were haphazardly Thrown on my plate. First, why would you scramble potatoes and meat together when the meat should have been on the muffin? Honestly, it's a good thing it's called, Tipsy Chef, Gives them a great excuse to serve less-than-par food. Not even sorry I tried this place. I will take my family and friends to Express Cafe on Fairview. At least they will make sure you walk out happy and satisfied. They didn't even offer any compensation. Unfortunately sorry doesn't always fix...
Read moreI heard about this restaurant on a half-price Friday or sweet deals type of situation. Where you pay $25 but you get double. Before I purchased, I looked up the reviews. They were a little mixed but had some great ones so I decided to go for it. I am a teacher, and I should’ve looked more closely at their hours. I cannot come in the mornings and do not get off before they close at two, so I would’ve had to do a weekend which are normally pretty busy for me. This weekend I thought oh my goodness I should go to the Tipsy Chef, because teachers have the week off. So I got out my coupons and noticed that they expired on Saturday, November 23. I did two stars because I know and totally own that I should’ve paid attention and tried to get in there sooner.
So I called this morning, Monday, and asked if I could possibly still come in today and the person who answered the phone said absolutely not. The coupon is expired even though it was only two days and that the owner would not allow that to happen. I understand that things expire… Like milk! But I don’t understand the rationale of not allowing an interested first time customer to use a coupon that was only two days expired, to come and experience your restaurant. I probably would’ve been a huge proponent and told all my friends had it been great. I’m sure the restaurant must’ve got some of the money that I paid in, the coupon place probably took some of it. I just don’t think that’s a good business decision. Even months later, you would probably still want someone to come in and check it out, especially because you took their...
