Wild Things Coffee Co. — Restaurant in Meridian

When they were in the truck still, every experience that we had with them was fabulous. They were friendly, efficient, and the coffee and pastries were fantastic! But when we went in recently to their physical shop, we had a pretty dull experience. We walked in to three (we’re assuming business owners) hanging out behind the counter on their laptops. They see us walk in, nobody greets us. We were personally excited to finally see their new location and the inside, but they had zero energy or friendliness about them. The barista greeted us after an awkward minute of walking in, with no one else inside. We ordered our drinks and waited for them. For such an active business on social media, working to make connections and engage with their guests, we were hoping to have some enthusiasm from them. “Hey, welcome in, have you been in with us before?!” Some excitement! They came across as uninterested and standoffish. The woman working there, assuming one of the owners, came across aggressive when asking about our choices for drinks. When they were at the ten mile location my experience/interaction with the owners(her and her husband) their young boys and the staff was great. Yes I would have to wait for a moment but by the third time I was there she knew my order. There are times I go to a chain coffee place and because they “run” and pump them out like a production like they still don’t know my order, name and the interaction is fake. With wild things the interaction is genuine and the coffee is great. If something has been slightly off they are quick to correct it. With the new location and offering more items comes growing pains which I get but when you take the time to voice feedback they are receptive and always make it right. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful this business is! First of all their coffee, drinks and treats are amazing. Their service is excellent and last but certainly not least, their mission/business model is why I visited in the first place. I will get behind any business that supports our military and our 1st responders and just has good American values as a whole! When I visited for the first time, though I knew what they supported, I asked if they offered military discount and not only did she say yes but she comped both drinks I had ordered… now it’s possible I may have been a bit emotional, but it made my day and I nearly cried.
