I've never given a 1-star review in my life, but there were so many unpleasant things about my visit here this past weekend. They stare at you impatiently immediately upon walking in, even though there's no one else there waiting to order. They charge around $15 for a bowl of instant ramen, and then charge for each additional topping, even a sprinkle of green onions, then have the nerve to ask for a tip when you're ordering by yourself on a screen. I understand grocery prices are expensive, but that was insane. I was the only customer, but it took almost 30 minutes for my bowl of ramen to be ready, with 3 people in the kitchen. By the time I got it, the noodles were all stuck/congealed together, and it was barely warm. They microwave your food. They have several signs telling you that you have a 45-minute time limit to finish your food and leave. It just seems like they don't want customers to feel welcome there, especially with the constant staring. They put my food in the wrong to-go container and told me that they'll just scotch tape it closed, and to be careful when I carry it. I've never had that happen to me before. Why not just put it in the correct container?
I'm not even a picky eater, especially when I get done working a shift at the hospital, and I'm usually so hungry I don't even care how much it costs, but that was crazy. You're better off going to a gas station for dinner. I also work in food service, and if a customer's order is taking that long, we apologize and offer their food on the house. I wish I liked this place, and I was excited to find a nearby Korean spot open late, but I'm never...
Read moreAfter having a late dinner, I was pleased that the cafe was open late. Upon arriving at the address provided by Google, we found a sign indicating that the restaurant was situated at the back of the building, making it easy to locate. Upon entering, we noticed the cafe had a deli-like ambiance typical of those in office buildings. Finding a place serving Korean food at such late hours was welcoming. The lighting was dimmed, and the air conditioning, with poor ventilation, seemed inadequate.
The touch-panel screen at the cashier's counter made ordering food convenient, and the staff promptly delivered our food to our table when it was ready. The bibimbap, pork donburi, and sweet and spicy fried chicken we ordered were satisfactory. However, the portion of chicken seemed smaller, and it was served with just a bowl of rice. Overall, our order didn't come with any additional side dishes except for a small salad.
Considering the cafe's late operating hours, the prices for the food and drinks seemed reasonable. However, I believe that some improvements to the cafe's interior ambiance, such as better organization and lighting, would enhance the overall...
Read moreWhat a nice surprise. I ordered the Jjapaguri (Ram-don, pictured) and it was one of the best COMFORT FOOD meals I've ever had. Okay yeah it's instant noodles, and yeah it's not what I consider steakhouse aged medium rare prime filet, but why do I get the same satisfaction for the price of an average pub meal??! Noodles were satisfyingly spicy, and bulgogi topping was scrumptiously sweet. The cucumbers were a nice fresh cool crunchy addition and contrast to the saucy noodles. I feel like this is what I would make if I was a mixed japanese-korean kid in America taking a break from my servers after a 12hr gaming binge. What the heck did I just come across!! My only regret is ordering it delivered because the egg didn't hold long and ended up being slow cooked, but I can imagine the yolk-xplosion if getting it at the table. For consideration, I saw open late hrs - double the bulgogi and half the noodles would be a perfect post-partying meal (NightOwl-guri). The small seasoned bag of popcorn on the side was a nice touch, thank you! I hope you open a...
